Also there is a setting in my BF2CC admin panel that allows us to turn off the little yellow X you get for hitting an enemy. Perhaps the server you were on had it turned off?

Bf2 does have bad hit detection, even tho bad connections don't help. My connection has actually died like twice out of the 400hrs of playing this game and I play on low ping servers and I still light people up with bullets and have them not die.

Just last night I saw a sniper and I was going to knife him but I decided not too so I just dropped down right next to him and emptied AN ENTIRE CLIP into his side and he got up and walked away....zero dmg taken....

Thats not lag....ping was like 30....

Stuff like that albiet less crazy happens to me every single time I play bf2...

Welcome to BF2, where 1 out of 3 bullets work.

If your going off the fact that you see little puffs of smoke coming off your enemy, that is a bad indicator. Most of the vehicles and guns will give you a little X type thing around your center point when you have hit them, that is way more accurate. The bullet impact animations are done client side, so they aren't adjust for ping, which is too bad and it wouldn't be too hard for them to have them appear according to your ping.
