hey im tryin to use your settings and i really cant figure it out i push the buttons you have listed and i dont eject and stuff im using the logitech extreme 3d pro joystick

Hmm..does the hatswitch mouse viewing work at least?

If it doesn't, then there is an issue with JoyToKey not seeing your joystick as 'Joystick 1'. You may have to unplug other gaming devices or use an app like JoyIDs to have JoyToKey recognize your joystick as 'Joystick 1'.

If hatswitch mouse viewing works, then your buttons may be laid out differently and may require some actual editing of the config through the JoyToKey interface.

yea i got it to work but only after i set it my way but i dont know to set it up so i dont have to use the mouse to look around any tips

It's a little complicated, but yeah.

• Enable multiple instances of JoyToKey (or use my included .ini file)
• Start 2 instances of JoyToKey
• For one instance, set POV hat up, down, left, and right ALL to the CTRL key
• For the other instance, set POV hat up to mouse axis up, POV hat down to mouse axis down, POV hat right to mouse axis right, and POV hat left to mouse axis left
• Save each instance's config separately so you can load them both again

I also use the Logitec Wingman 3d and some of the button assignments
will not work as the CFG is set up. Apparently Talus' MS Sidewinder has
one or two more buttons than the WM3d has.

I cannot remember exactly which of the buttons there was a conflict
for, but I THINK it was button 7. Button 7 on the WM3d is actually
the POV look right (3 O'Clock) position. As you can guess this would
create a conflict while you a looking and press another button by accident.

I'm at work, so I cannot verify, but check out the button assignements
and you will see the conflict. As Talus noted, you must run that batch
job to get both of the JTKey services running, in order to have all the
features he listed.

I was able to use most of them, but did not worry about it too much,
because all I really wanted was to be able to use my HAT switch to look!

With a nod from Talus, I have put together a zip file containing config files (and related batch/ini files) tailored for the Logitech 3D Pro joystick. Along with a shortcut that you can place anywhere that runs the new batch file, which in turn, runs two instances of JoyToKey. This does not include the JoyToKey program itself so be sure to grab it from Talus' original post and install it where he says. These files are meant to suppliment Talus' tut and files with alternate configs for different joystick brands.


This will let you:
- use button 11 to activate the commrose and select with the trigger.
- use the POV switch to mouse look with one touch.

The rest of the configuring is up to you. :)

Note: I personally disable the up and down mouselook and only use left and right. I map up and down on the POV to F9 and F11 respectively. ( I don't find much use for up and down mouselook.)

does joytokey have macro settings like keypress, pause, keypress - or is it just it just rebind the joystick to keyboard map?

OK think I may have set this up a bit incorrectly :cry:

I used the config files just as you supplied them but my hat actually now directs the plane and not the mouselook:hmm:

I have a saitek cyborg evo. guess I may have to fiddle with the settings a bit

That joytoKey is absolutely brilliant I have just 1 problem

Somehow I only get 1 of the POV's to work wich is quite rotten because the POV on the right doesn't seem to work and that's where i want my camera movement.

When I test it seems to work just fine, but not through JtK

Do you have 2 instances of JoyToKey running in your tray? If not, you need both instances running each running one of the 2 .cfg files I have supplied.

I just ran the .bat file like you suggested:)

Yeah I have two instances of joy to key running and have the mouselook bound to left CTRL but it still seems the hat switch flys the plane. Not sure is it matters (prolly it does) but I have a usb mouse and another gamepad/keyboard thing (usb) connected.

OK tried what you suggested i.e removing the 'thingy' and trying it out.

Unfortunatly it stiill doesn't work. I reckon, in fact I am almost certain, it is something I have done. i'll have a play about with it and try and get it sorted.:)
