I have an Nvidia SLI Ready 7800GTOC, I also have a 2005FPW from dell, so I prefer to keep medium settings because I only have one Gb of ram. (PC3200)

I average about 55 FPS, according to fraps.

getting a kick ass vid card only really helps to an extent. the real power is in getting more ram and high speed raid. or you could get iram and load bf2 into it.

If you have an AGP board,

nothing slow about AGP boards at all, as there is really no performance advantage to PCI-E as of yet

6800 Ultra AGP, 2G ram, everything cranked up Max, runs like butter...

2. 7900gtx
3. 1900xt
4. 7900gt / 7800gtx almost same performace

I do prefer nvidia but the ATi definitly out performs nVidia for BF2.

I'd go quad drives if my board had that many SATA ports,... but i'm replacing my board for PCI-E in a few weeks.

Dual 7900gtx, 2 gigs, an A64 FX-60, and SB X-fi card would be the BEST possible setup you could get.

you lot are so lucky with all your fancy video cards but im stuck with a ATI 9800pro. Can anyoen tell me what max settings i can do on bf2 with my 9800pro without getting any probs. I basically want to get the most out my gfx card and dont know what settings to have on or off in the video settings.

my system specs are:

AMD 64 3400
ASrock upgrade mobo
1gb ram 3200
ATI 9800pro
160gb ide 7200

any help appreciated thanks.

ps. i havent overclocked any of my hardware

I think RAM is the most important thing in BF2. Get 2GB or more.

I have an X800XT Platinum (built by ATi) and i can easily run the game on highest settings with 6x AA at 1024x768 with only 1GB RAM!!! If i got 2GB, it'd perform like pure silk.

I would recommend 7900GT 512MB if you want to use VSync, at least 2,2Ghz AMD and 2GB RAM.

Medium textures, no AA, no Vsync, no dynamics stuff. Lightening mybe medium mybe low. The other ones not so important.
