You should try night maps as specop or sniper. It's so easy to hide and use your silenced pistol. As for knife kills, you need a smaller map, like Ghost town, where flags are closer together. Good luck! :)

Getting vet and expert in the same day, or even same round, is not unusual. If you have the global requirments met for both, but have only the basic badge, then when you kill seven you get vet, then at eighteen you get expert.

For example I have had the global requirments for expert explosives since before I even had the basic badge. In theory I could have gotten basic, veteran, and expert all in one round.

Make sure you play as USMC when going for the pistol badge, the MEC and PLA pistols' iron sights are slightly off (I wonder why they haven't fixed this yet, it's been there since the release!). Much easier making headshots with the US pistol!

I'm the same for explosives. Got enough global kills for veteran but need to get 23 kills IAR. But coz i haven't got basic yet, if i did manage to get 23 IAR i would get both basic and vet badges in the same round.

I have 66 knife kills and and still no badge
