because sometimes if you lie down or stick your gun into a wall people can see your gun or legs sticking out on the other side and kill you by shooting at your legs if thats what you mean.

If you have a high ping and you run as someone is shooting you and you die after you reach around the other side....then the ping is to high

I also think that it is BS to dive over a thick solid concrete wall, clearly in enough time to avoid fire, only to be killed by what I am told is "splash damage". Maybe a tank main gun round would bust up the concrete and kill, but machine gun fire thru a 3ft thick concrete wall???....ok

To be clear, I'm talking about something very fast. You see a Vodnik coming. He sees you. You move behind a wall. You no longer can see them. They fire, you might still be moving, but you can't see them. They still kill you. I don't get it.

I know what you mean.. I know that the fact u can get killed a split second after you get behind that corner is because of lag...

What i don't get is why u seem to be more likely to get killed at that point than while running for cover.

I mean sometimes someone starts shooting at you and you don't know where he's at so u just have to run behind a building... u can run for 100 meters like a crazy lemming and he won't hit you, but as soon as you get behind the wall he gets the killer shot.

I'm sure thats not just me being a martyr because i have noticed i can do it too.

So i cant' help you figure out the resons but this "glitch" doesn't bother me really because like i said, u can also do it to your enemies.

In reality, which I know BF2 is FAR from...a .50 Cal sniper rifle can easily penatrate a 3foot concrete wall just like butter...


One thing I hate is when i'm sniping and I seen a tank that sees me and i hide on the other side of the hill i somehow get killed still....

Its lag, trust me i know, i play on my team server with a ping of 100-120 and everytime im getting shot at and i try to run around a corner to reload i die...if i jump in WC server, with ping no greater than 20 i usaly kill whats infront of my with no problem, but if i need to need run behind a wall im fine, with no damage taken.

I get sick of vehicles like Vods, hmms, tanks, etc. shooting you as you move behind a wall of a concrete building and killing you. What kills me the most is you see them coming so you duck around a wall and hide. You can't see them so presumably they can't see you. They MAY have seen you before you moved behind the wall but once you move behind the wall you should be safe but sadly you aren't. I have been killed countless times but these magic bullets that penetrate concrete.

Perhaps it's caused by the tiny differences in the two players' net connections. Perhaps you as the victim are actually seeing things AFTER they happen. That is, a few fractions of second, not that long, but long enough for you to die. It sure is weird. Just tonight I was on Karkand. I saw a Vodnik coming. I was prone next to a building wall. When I saw him I moved behind the wall as fast as I could. I could no longer see the vod so how could he see me? A fraction of a sec later he kills me. I guess he saw me before I saw him and all that other stuff I did to move didn't matter because I was already dead. lol

Or perhaps your large, VERY empty brain case is impossible to hide....

All you guys are forgetting 1 very important aspect of how the game is encoded

The wall you see, & the "matrix" that is encoded as penetrable, or inpenetrable are 2 different things, & are not exactly alligned

Same as bodies, & "hit boxes", the hit boxes are a group of triangles, & look nothing like a body

You see from your neck, so you may think you are hidden behind a wall when in fact your head is sticking up

You shoot from your stomach too wether you are zoomed, or not, which causes other problems with ppl's perception in game

Do you think this has to go with the new 'beta' patch ?
How many times have you been shot through concrete walls? Most of my deaths from vehicles are them shooting at me hiding behind cover. It's so frustrating knowing you are safe, but still dying from 'wonder' bullets.

I get sick of buildings, walls, etc.... not apearing to get shot up by these heavy weapons.
Heck even some of the wood stuff that weapons like the G3, AK47, PKM/RPK can shoot through are annoying because the gun does damage but their is no bullet hole and if they hit the ground near you after going through the wall you don't see a puff or anything. Overlooked bug? Underbitched about feature? Overall I find that frustrating.

Someone should make a thread to post vids of armor/vehicles in real life tearing things up. Just so we can see what real damage they can dish out. Maybe we could get a better understanding of what a .50cal bullet can really do for example. I would start such a thread execpt that I do not have access to such footage.

its lag/net coding, there was a video posted here not too long ago, which shows a USMC guyrunning behind a wall, to take cover from a humvee (i think) then dying from, after he was behind the wall.....\

the truth is, you were shot dead before you ran to cover, but the netcode is ****ed, so it didnt register on ur end until after you were behind cover
