      Re: Small FPS Tweak

Most people say the human eye cant detect a difference in frame rates above 60 FPS (I think) but I know 60+FPS would look smooth to anybody. There really isnt a big difference above 60FPS. 40-60 isnt too bad unless its dipping into the 30s, generally low to mid 30s is as low as it gets when it comes to playability.

Sorry doesn't work that way. Your minimum FPS will be the same whether your capped or not.

I updated my driver today just testing somethings out and it seems to run a little better.

          I am using XTreme-G 84.56 v3 <--clicky

The Omega drivers always worked good with my old 9800pro. I would imagine they would work just as well for nvidia cards, although im not too sure if the tweaked set for the newest drivers are avaliable.

That command isnt going to do anything for the people that are already getting low FPS, and FPS overheads are pure BS.
I did say that this is for people who can't get passed 99.9 FPS, didn't I? I never mentioned anyone with low FPS to try this :hmm:..

Yeah I know, I was just trying to save anyone that gets low FPS the trouble.

And it's true. You probably need an expensive 'high speed' camera to notice it.

                      Re: Small FPS Tweak

US TV is presented at 24 FPS. The human eye has a hard time distinguishing anything above that. It gets impossible around 35 or so. NO ONE is going to notice the difference between a huge firefight at 40 FPS versus the same firefight at 170 FPS. NO ONE. It doenst matter.

The only reason people like to have higher FPS is so they have a sense of security so that during a taxing time, like a firefight, your FPS doesnt go below 25 or so.

Edit: When you see a stuttering in the gameplay, your FPS is around 15 or 18 probably, depending on how bad it is. Obviously, it can go lower, but you shouldnt bother playing if you get a consistent FPS of below 20.

There are two answers to this ambigous question:

                        1) The human eye can detect one fps about as long as you can possibly stare at a monitor.

                        2) The human eye needs about 18 fps to recognize fluid motion.

What will changing the 0 at the end of it do. (somebody said they changed it to 999)

This wont cause lag will it?

                            Re: Small FPS Tweak

This is absolutely and utterly pointless.

There is no point of removing the frame cap unless it is at 30.

If it is capped at 99, the maximum your frames go will be 99, but that itself is fluid smooth. Uncapping it will allow it to extend higher, but what's the point?

This has no effect whatsoever when you enter a firefight. and the frames dip below the given 99. Nomatter if it's capped or not, It will dip to the same low framerate. The minimum framerate does not change. This is for people that are insecure about their specs and care more about individual frames that pure fluidness.

yes this speedcap thing also limits low fps...u cant go below 15fps

ppl can detect a difference at 60 fps (mainly baseball players who have to watch teh ball)

but even still...u wont notice a diff at all between 80-140 fps because ur monitor refresh rate usually goes to 75hz
