Speedlink Medusa 5.1 Headset.

I tried a Logitech headset, but the mic wasn't too hot, the earpieces were uncomfortable and thin.

I use this one from Logitech not only for online gaming, but also for our Battlefield Podcast and it works great. I found that the behind the ear style is alot more comfortable then over the head. Also when your listening through your speakers instead of headphones, you can move the pads forward from over your ears and still use the microphone. $14.95 at Walmart, gotta love it

I can honestly say ive tried almost every major brand of headset. Ive gone through about 5 Plantronics Audio 90's and while nice, they just dont last. Ive had 3 Logitech (1 usb, 2 non) and I personally found the mic terrible and the headsets seemed pretty bad in construction. Often i'd try to flip the mic and it would cause distortion and overall just sound like ****. The best pair in my expierience is this... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826106346
I had it for well over a year and it the mic finally gave out on it (The hand control had a wire come lose) and thats after dropping it hundreds of times and god knows what else. In short, its the best headset known to man at a good price.

avoid usb at all costs.

Medusa 5.1 are the best and they aren't too expensive. They also vibrate.

Really good bass which you can turn up and down which also turns the vibration up and down. If there's some kind of explosion next to you, you really feel it. I got some decent (£50) Sennheiser headphones for my turntables and i'd rather listen to music through these ones because the bass is so good. These plug into your sound card, with a USB connection purely to power the vibration.

I can highly recommend the medusa headset its great for the surround sound so no bugger can sneak up behind and knife you however there are some conflicts with the drivers on the usb and it does on occasion reset your comp when u turn it off i also have an altec lansing set and i would recommend those but the medusa's offer better sound i think

Ive got the LTB 5.1s, they were expensive but are really good when it comes to gaming.

Ive heard good things about the plantronics audio 350s, Ive had a few audio 90s myself and can say they were good so Im guessing these are better in sound and in build.

Well I bought the Medusa 5:1's and I'm very happy with them. The mic is perfect. The only time my squadmates don't hear me is if theres artillery deafening us. The headset itself is very comfortable, and the sound quality is great.

I had a pair of the Logitech media headsets and the mic was crap, the earpieces were very thin. In comparison the earpieces on the Medusa's are fully covering your ear. There's a velvet type ear piece covering rather than the leatherette plastic you usually get, and this makes them very comfortable on the ear. They are quite hot though, after a while but not unbearably so. The price is also very reasonable.

Im still using my "FREE" headset that came with BF2.

works great. And to be honest, is one of the longest lasting pair, i've ever owned. And I had USB headsets, before people knew what usb headsets were. (that simply means, very pricy. lol )

I agree with some posters here..........usb headsets suck, in comparison.

If you have a good sound card then usb is a waste....i have a plentronics 350 i think..they are comfy but decent...i wish i had a little more to buy a better pair
