      Re: 1 shot tank kill

I have seen many times that my full health tank got killed in one shot. It seems like the enemy tank can kill me in one shot even I drove pass by them in parallel, so thread/track is not the spot (but can definitely damage it greater than 50%). The crevice under the turret is a good spot but I don't think one shot can do it.

Somehow I get the feeling that when the tank shell is travelling in long range and downward angle (the last leg of its parabolic trajectory) can do more damage than at close range. Has anyone else got similar experience?

No, you can't ricochet with them.

If he can find a place to ricochet a shot into another part of your tank, your probably dead, no matter what the distance is. I've proved this in video already and enough times in the pubs. It just takes a bit of practice.

Your best bet, start up a local server with just you in it. Spawn as an engineer and take a tank all the way to the other tank and just start trying to find different areas to ricochet a shot into another part of the tank. If you don't get it, fix the tank and try over again. The collision mesh for the tanks are all different, so some spots are easier on one tank than on another.
