I’m trying to spread the word about the M1A2 collision mesh being messed up. Hopefully it will get back to the developers sometime. Though in any-case, here I am to explain what I’m talking about.
Back when patch 1.11-1.12 was released, certain things were modified by the developers. One of those things was the M1A2 Collision mesh. What they did was they made it larger or something. As a result, the tank now takes damage from every small or large bump, ditch, object or hill/ramp. Most of the time the tank take1-2 bars of damage before you even make-it into combat. Other times it will take even more upwards of 3-4 bars of damage. Why did the development team do this? What purpose does it serve to have your tank take damage from small bumps and ditches when the other tanks in the game barely take any damage from the game-world?
I talked to a few people who are also wondering why it’s like. We all agree that this unbalances the game hugely. Not only does the tank take lots of damage from the environment, but it also has trouble climbing small hills that other tanks have no problem with. Also the M1A2 is knocked out faster than the other tanks. I can knock out the M1A2 in 2 hits from any other tank. Though it will take about 3-4 hits from any of the tanks to take out the T-90 or the T-98.
A suggestion to why the developers Modified the collisions mesh is that they did it because people kept on driving the tank to the North West flag on Karkand by way of a back alley and behind a house in the area which I highlighted with a green box in the picture below inside the small overview map. Also, if you look at the damage bar you will notices about 3-4 almost 5 bars taken away just by driving the tank to that area.

So anyway, if anyone has any kind of way of contacting the developers that would be sweet, but also I was wondering what other people thought of this. This was actually already discussed on these forums before but not in any kind of detail. You can see that thread here http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showt...t=61911&page=1
