Basic First Aid on Karkand. I was just dropping some First Aid on the ground during the initial rush on one of my first Karkand rounds and Boom! "You've been recommended for an award!" I was excited.

The next day I got Basic Medic Combat, Basic Repair and Basic Air Defense. I haven't had many other days where I've had more than one, not counting Gold, Silver, Bronze medals.

I'm very confused about this thread. Not once in all of playing BF2 have I heard a straight drum roll. In fact, when you get promoted, there AREN'T any rolls played. The award sound has some rolls in it, but it's not just a drum roll. What are you guys doing special to get just a drum roll?

The promotion is just 16th notes with some random accents and maybe a few flams in there. The award sound does have 2 rolls in it though, but there's much more than just a roll. :)

Shame really, because I love when you get them, especially since I didn't realise how it worked at first, though I was some kind of super soldier or something hah.

My first drum roll was for basic pistol badge and gave me a shock as I wasn't expecting it

I was playing as sniper on Karkand with my flatmate watching and he suggested I might have more targets at another location. I got up and started walking to the isolated flag on the left and along the way killed 5 people with the pistol and suddenly got the drumroll which made me jump a bit

Basic pistol? :laugh: Don't mean to call you out, but basic pistol seems very unlikely. Try again and look at your stats page. It was basic Anti-tank or Helicopter in August. You didn't get pistol until January of this year.

I was playing this game for about 6 months when I was working in HK with no ranked servers (nearest ones were 200+ ping away) until I got back here to the UK so wasn't entirely sure.. but it is the one that sticks most in my mind ^_^

aerial ribbon, the first thing I ever did in bf2 was jump in a blackhawk and go up as high as I could and then parachute out, wanted to see the pretty scenery

ditto cept i used a plane and afterburned as high as i could go!

i wouldnt do it now knowing that someone could use it but somebody was prolly ****ed after i did that!
