Flashbangs are the best thing ever though. People playing vanilla bf2 don't really expect em, so just bring along a friend as support and constantly throw flashbangs everywhere. We got a jet in the middle of a dive-bombing run once. it crashed striaght into the ground :laugh:

Feel free to check my stats, over 1/2 of my 16K kills while playing assault, and I'm stubborn with the class, even after my n00b tubing days were nerfed I've stuck with the class. Still nade where I can, but have learned to be much more efficient with the weapons.

Stock guns, you can't beat the AK's...all of them are great in match (no unlocks) play. As far as pub play, where I have my choice, I am a F2000 user/lover The gun is great up close, burst fire on targets is lethal as well. You have flashbangs for assaulting large groups of enemies or getting past armor, and the GL will still do its job at medium to long ranges.

My only real complaint is the quality of the scope xhair, I don't like that blank area in the middle. Though I'm assuming this was done to help balance the weapon out, imagine that gun with a m24 scope on it

It depends... when I want face-to-face revange I pick G3 and unload it in teh face, when I'm more careful I use AK, and I dont like the m16 oh and the f2000 was almost the best pre-patching...

Done the same few times. Always a great fun to watch plane or helo to crash wide open air by hitting the ground

Takes some timing to succeed but now and then it works. Damn sad that flashbang kills are imposible to be recorded. Anyhow, A bomber with flashbang is something that not every fellow can brag about

If you play a lot of assault, then yeah. I never play assault, so it doesnt help me much, but to each his own.

All the Assualt weapons are powerful and great but for diferent reasons.
The m-16 - 203 combo is good to learn with. The 3 round burst once you get used to it can be really handy. In spray and pray situations you are more acurate due to the burst fire mode. From a distance unzoomed you tend to hit the target more often as you just knocked off 3 controlled rounds.

The G-3 - Too much fun, once you learn to handle the recoil you can tear people apart and smoke grenades come in handy though no one ever uses them. Also this is the most accurate spray and pray weapon. The devation after the 3rd round is the lowest of all the guns in the game.

F2000 - Is another great weapon and like was stated earlier the F/B almost seem unfair. Also noted, the scope sucks a little and takes getting used to.

The AK's - What can I say, powerfull just never spray and pray you'll not hit ****.

well now that i am trying to get my asualt hours in i am liking the f2000 that i hardly ever used...seems pretty accurate

the F2000, according to http://www.secretsofbattlefield.com/ has the same accuracy as the AK-101. It also does 4 more hit points worth of damage than the M16 and has full auto. I personally love the gun from the futuristic look to the flashbangs. I, too, wish it had a more closed crosshair.

I like the F-2000 as I could never get the hang of the G3. The various Kalashnikov series weapons are good as well though, as quoted from Lord of War, "It's the true weapon of mass destruction. :)

Ak101 with the GP-30 is the best assault weapon in my opinion. It is very deadly in close quarters combat, has the GL which can get people a way out, and has a good size clip. Also its either single shot or auto.
So i think the AK101 is the best assault gun.
