Nah, Kayback, that's not padding. I would say padding is when you do something that isn't part of "regular" or "normal" play specifically to gain something (eg lots of kills, heals, revives, whatever).

If you're in the thick of a hard-fought battle around a flag and you end up notching up a huge score, so what? It's not padding to spam ammo bags everywhere - that's what the support class is supposed to do! You were playing a team role (keeping all your mates kitted out with plenty of ammo) as your chosen class should, and you were rewarded handsomely for it.

You didn't go out of your way to play in an unusual fashion, you just played as normal. That's not padding.

Edit: ELI, the other guy wouldn't have got a purple heart - if he was AFK he wouldn't have made the 5 kills needed in addition to the 1:4 K/D ratio...

Very same thing happened to me the other day on Karkand. I was MEC and up on the hill to the left of one of the main US spawn points. I was probably at least 50 ft from the spawn. These two guys kept spawning there and not killing me! I killed them like 6 times a piece before they finally got me.

Padding is when you plan to get good scores and/or badges/medals/ribbons with the help of another player in bf2. You teamwork with this guy, and for example let him kill you and vice versa to get the knife badge.

Nope, not stats padding.

But rather clever. With the 19 kills u said, it would have taken you 5 minutes to get those (with 15 sec spawn time). Strange that nobody had found you by then.

The server was only a little more thn half full anyway. Had I been out in the open with my knife, somebody probably would have seen me when driving past to get down to the water where the action was.

There were plenty of people around, just not spawning right there.

Oh hell i would have done the same if he's dumb enough to go afk without making sure he didnt spawn then tuff luck.

But yeah you should have knifed him to kingdom come i got my expert knife on karkand running around with nothing but the knife in my hand stabbing away k/d ratio wasnt to good after. Would have loved that afk guy just too keep the deaths down .

I would have done the same thing, but I think we're being a little rough on the 'victim'. Real life could have intruded, for example a hurt child could have required immediate attention. There ARE things more important than your death streak in BF2. I'd prefer to give the guy the benefit of the doubt instead of calling him an idiot.

I would have done the same thing, but I think we're being a little rough on the 'victim'. Real life could have intruded, for example a hurt child could have required immediate attention. There ARE things more important than your death streak in BF2. I'd prefer to give the guy the benefit of the doubt instead of calling him an idiot.

lol....get the knife badge the right way....doesnt feel as good if you get it from AFKers......i got my expert the legit way.....and now i feel higher and mightier than most ppl.....

Not padding. Its his fault. I have got one guy almost 40 times doing the same thing when I was commander for MEC on Karkand. I bet he wont leave his computer for that long anymore..lol..It is cheap though but really really funny. BTW after I killed him 4 times with a rifle I started using my pistol to get more global kills..Works like a charm..Have never been able to find another person AFK after that though.

P.s. get the knife badge the real way, it feels like more of an accomplishment. Just use thoose times to chip away at global kills with knife/pistol.

happened to me once too ,but i didnt kill him more than 4 or 5 times in a row in the same spawn.. at the end he figured out it wasnt so smart to spawn there over and over again..
