    Re: Engineering Badge Help

If a commander drops a supply crate in the area of his toys, chances are it'll be to repair his assets - thereby depriving you of the repair point for doing it yourself. I would expect that a commander would be very reluctant to drop supplies slightly further away, deliberately allowing an enemy spec ops to rearm so that he can destroy more...

You'd have to get a mate to play as commander to go along with that to help you get the badge... and we all know what we call people who work together to deliberately make it easier to do specific tasks to help boost your stats...

Oh come on, have a little sense. Tell the commander what you are up to, and i'm sure all will be fine. Get the crate far enough from the asset to not be blown up by c4, and not repair the assets... you could even make it look like the commander screwed up.

I have plenty of sense, tyvm... Why does this forum always feel the need to insult the intelligence of people who post an opposing view?

I realise it would look like the commander simply wasn't careful enough with his placement of the crate... But to expect a commander (who you don't know) to go along with your plan on a public server? I wouldn't expect that to happen. Everyone plays for themselves on those, unless, as I said before, you have a friend in command.

The commander would probably worry about you being shot by the lurking enemy spec ops, thereby leaving his assets still destroyed. Lets face it, if you're a spec ops and you're blowing stuff up, and suddenly it's repaired, without a supply crate, you know that there's an engineer around... And engineers are usually easy-pickings for anyone with a weapon that has a range of more than 10m. And like I said, why would a commander drop a supply crate to help an enemy soldier? If I was in command, I wouldn't do it. I'd drop a supply crate nearby to repair the asset, and if that gave the spec ops guy a chance to rearm and blow up some more then so be it (although personally I always try to kill spec ops lurking near my toys when I'm commanding). That might help one of my engineers. Or, if someone specifically requested that I not repair the asset with a crate so that they could repair it themselves then I'd play along... but I would never drop a crate with the express purpose of assisting the enemy to do more damage. Sorry.

I got 13 on Gulf of Oman.

Was a fairly one sided game, no one could get off the aircraft carrier as it was surrounded by APC's in the water, and choppers and jets constantly strafing.

I was on the losing side but camped out right behind the AA on the aircraft carrier and because it kept getting blown up (if you lay down you very rarely get hit) I soon racked up the points because I was just constantly repairing. It also wasn't that long a game due to base raping so if you could get on a long game your quids in.

Warlord, insurgent side all the commander toys are close together making them easy to blow up and easy to repair. Just don't kill the spec ops guy unless he tries to kill you - let him run around doing his thing while you run around doing yours. I got my veteran this way - no collusion required.

Illegal: The issue is that you don't have 15 hours of playing time as an engineer so you aren't eligible to fill the repair points per round requirement yet.

sorry last post was for the Engineer COMBAT badge .
For the Engineer badge its Veteran: 10 repair points in a round +15h as engineer. Expert 100hours + 25 repair point in a round.. how many points do u get for each viechle? is it same for like a jeep as a tank?

So, without stat-padding, how could I get 15+ repair points in a round? I'd especially apprieciate it if it was for Karkand, but any map'll do.
I've tried everything: Driving vehicles, gunning in vehicles, running on-foot, even laying on vehicles!, and still no luck. I've been around other friendly vehicles while doing this, too.
                    Thank in advance.
Forget about Karkand. If you have Special Forces, simply load up Warlord, either side, and you'll easily get 10 repair points as the CO assets are constantly blown up.

If you don't have SF, I'd suggest the Mashtuur City map as the assets for both MEC and USMC are very accessible and typically blown up repeatedly. Pick yourself up a vehicle and use it to get around quickly. In between repairing assets, you can drive around behind your team's tank(s) to keep repairing them.

Ahh, getting 15 hours would help.. Too bad you have to get Global requirements before In A Round.

                      But thanks anyways, guys!

You can get your engineer hours up by focussing on vehicles for a while. Moving in a engineer tank column is a great way to survive, and rack up engineer hours. Also, you can lay mines in the water at karkand, and wait for hilarity to ensue!

Also, FULLY repair every asset. The time you spend repairing the dregs goes towards your next repair point.

You might get a repair point for fixing 2 bars on a tank.

If I'm a spec ops in a squad with a support soldier, i place ALL 5 C4 on an asset to do 'overdamage'. If an engineer rocks up to fix it, he might get 2 repair points, and my support guy is guarenteed a resupply point.

I've been trying to get the expert badge for the past few days without luck. I need 25 repair points. The highest I've reached so far was 19.

I reckon it is doable legit.

It will just take a long game, and some dedicated C4 junkies.

It's probably among the hardest of badges, like the Expert explosives badge.
