Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
F-35 then bail, not a waste of vehicle, since most people wouldn't stand a chance against the J-10 any way. Just bail over any unpopulated flag, take that and proceed to airfield.
This strategy is the strategy if you have a couple of friends in your squad on a public server. For actual organized team play, there is a much better strategy, but I assume most people here play on public servers.
The only thing that works reliably for me is a boat from the carrier with a wide turn to the Beach with a squad of 3 or more.
BH is too hard to get a sqaud into (on a public server) and the chances of being the pilot or having the pilot do what you want (read: something intelligent) is near zero. So sure, if you can do that, more power to you. However, chance of doing that is very low.
Unless you get on the island RIGHT AWAY and grab a boat before someone runs off by himself or with one person on it, then there is only a very slight chance that you will be able to even get off the island with a tank and a two buggies shooting at you. But if you can do this and everyone is in the server very quickly and on you very quickly in the boat, you can generally sneak around to one of the north bases very quickly.
However, the boat from the carrier to the beach is the best and has the highest success rate in my experience. If you have a 3 man squad you can grab the beach flag very quickly as there is no run up to it. If you take a wide turn around southern point of the island and neither the plane nor the chopper is patrolling those waters, you can get there with ease.
when the game starts immediatelly get in the blackhawk and fly very low to north base mostly nobody is there, cap the flag and rush yourself beach and cap that flag too. If your BH isn't too badly damaged fly to south base or airfield. And if you're engineer like me don't forget to put down mines.
Exactly, Take a jet, and bail over a flag, (the airfield flag is the best) ... Make sure you are a squadleader...and when you touch the ground your squad mates spawn on you and you cap the flag in 3 seconds.
I think taking doing what you suggest with the jet is a bad idea because sometimes when you bail out, the jet will stay in the air for a very long time leaving you down a jet to the enemy.
On top of that, you don't have any jet defending the rest of the people trying to assault the island.
Squad leader gets the jet, fill the squad but do not spawn, then he ejects over airfield saying "spawn on me now", all six squad members then cap the airfield easily.
i've had good success as a squad leader, with a couple of squad members, taking a boat from the small island and going straight to the right side of the U shape of the main island. it usually takes longer for enemy tanks to roll down to the water's edge on that side and the J-10s are usually looking for boats crossing to the other side. once we made landfall, i hung back making sure i didn't die so squad members could spawn on me. with just me and 2 guys we capped the flag and then got the second. of course, most of the team was still on the carrier trying to get on the blackhawk, which was getting taken out by J-10s. no matter what you decide to do, do it as a squad.
Here is a little tip coming from Wake Island expert: Squad of few people with the squad leader piloting should take the Black Hawk extremely high in the air and head towards the Chinese main base (the airfield). Everybody except the pilot should jump from the high altitude, and don't parachute until you are close to the ground. With 3,4 players, taking over that critical flag should be very quick and easy, and in the worst case, respawn on your squad leader in the blackhawk again and repeat the same tactics. Once you take the airfield, there is 90% chance that USMC will win the round.
The above said can be applied in Iron Gator if you are playing MEC. Take over the critical flag which is the Essex AA by jumping from high altitude from the MEC's transport chopper.
What I notice is that usually whoever is in teh cobra is useless. They come right over to the island, and get shot down, when they should be firing tv missiles off and getting the tanks / favs from a great distance, to make way for their teams boats / BHs
First thing: Don't spawn at the beginning. Or at least don't get into a boat or transport helo. Both are easy targets for enemy fighters.
If the Chinese team is at all aware of what's going on, you'll be a long time trying to get someone on land. Best is to get 1 person on (swim to island) and have people spawn on them, then some of those create new squads, and before long, you have a strong force on land. Just sweep in and go to work. After you have a foothold, you'll be relatively secure, ticket bleed is stopped and then you can go to work.
As long as your idiot teammates don't insist on spawning on the carrier, waiting for a helo or jet that they have no business even trying to fly, then you are just screwed.
Well Im no expert but I do know that it depends greatly on how the chineese team plays at the begining. On most servers you are gonna be lucky to do anything with out a good commander, he needs to clear the island tips with arty strikes. Next is the jet pilots, If they cant keep the chineese air craft busy all is lost. Now last, and most important, is everyone else. They need to know that the main chineese base is the key to the whole map, It has the air field. If the USMC can take and hold that, the game is over. Its that simple.
The best way to get to the Island? I usually fly in the Black Hawk but some days, like today, that just wont work. So today I swam over the three times I played it and managed to cap a flag all 3 times. Gotta be flexable! . . . . . .Red
