I just popped in to play a few rounds before my Fantasy Football Draft today and came to a sad conclusion... I truly suck.

Don't get me wrong, I love this game, and still enjoy it, but I seriously get my ass handed to me in multi-player.

Are there any servers where non-experts play?

The best thing to do is upgrade your tactics. Play spec ops and sniper. Make traps and always get the drop on other people. With 1:1 combat, it comes down to gun type and luck usually. Everybody can aim and go prone really fast. The easiest guns to use are the MG36 and G36E so get those if you were suckered into buying SF.

when i first played i sucked big time, and i mean big time, as you can see here. If you notice, i have a negative KDR in ever class, as well as in every vehicle. Dont take me wrong, I still suck, but i just learned to stick to single player on expert for while and attempt to hone in my "skills" if you can even call them that. Hang in there, if your stats are depressing you, just make a new account.

Oh yeah numbers are horrible. I'd rather have a name that doesn't make any sense, like Rexophane. Everyone always asks what it means, and I've got nothing to say to them.

Edit: Damn it. MrStaggerLee's still up for grabs. I guess no one listens to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

You only have 30.56 hours play time... Once you get to 300 come back and tell us how your doing. I'm just now getting the hang of everything after 600+ hours. Yeah I suck also but once you learn the maps everything gets loads easier.

Really early on in my BF2 career, I did see someone with the name 'HitlersDeathcamp' join the server, followed rapidly by

'HitlersDeathCamp' has been kicked and banned for an inappropriate name.

Fair enough, I thought. It wasn't a random admin ban, either, some sort of inbuilt thing.

Edit: Oh, and Aristotle, you can always take solace in small things, like how I'm the second best player with Rexo at the front of his name (Damn you Rexonspix!!!).

In the beggining I died alot lol, I never played any of the other BF series and at first I didn't really recognize stats like I was just run in and kill etc, so it took its place and gave me like a 0.80 k/d ratio or less. So I was pvt and every time I went in a 64 player server full of like 1st sergeants etc, I'd probly die more then you think.

But now I have learned to work in a team, use weapons and kits effective, use vehicles effective, make good decisions in bad situations etc, really BF2 is a fps yes but its not like cs or whatever, its got alot of strategy involved too.

I find playing the demo is good practice too (as far as playing with people who are not uber-skilled). Sure, its only Gulf of Oman, but its better than single-player and offers a pretty good variety of vehicles...

One thing that really helped me was to play as a class that has a poor medium to long range weapon, like engineer or anti tank. This forces you to use cover effectively and get up close for the kill. Using cover also gives you the element of suprise. The element of suprise is so important in this game. The guy who starts shooting first, usually wins. USE EVERYTHING as cover, hills, buildings, barrels, you name it.
