Good video for those beginner/intermediate pilots out there... you should do one in a round online. Also for those rookies out there. Notice how he flew when he was at the airfield. The way he was lined up was perfect for his gunner to use the tv guided missiles to take out the Z10, tank & transport chopper.

Thats also what I was showing... to line up a camera.. it is NOT the "gunner position" thing... and not the crosshairs, but in between, but slightly closer to the crosshairs.

nice flying; I saw a few advantages that the joystick gives in control vs the mouse + keyboard combo. I remember when I first started BF2 testing out the helicopters w/ a joystick and couldnt control them for ****, crashed way too much, but I might have to give it another shot and see based on this video.

FYI, the barrel roll evasive move can be done using the M/K, but you need slightly higher altitude since the roll rate control is initially slower.

very nice vid, i fly for my gunner not myself, but sometimes i like to be gunner, and a lot of pilots will just nose dive right towards the tank to take it out with its missels instead of letting me use the TV... but this could also be the fact that i still havent figured out how to aim that damn thing... and its hard to practice with it in SP, because in spite of all the videos i have watched of lone pilots using the TV.. i cannot switch seats, switch to TV, and fire as quickly as they can... I aslmost have to have the helo's back to what i want to aim at before i switch seats.. anny suggestions?

just dive slightly and aim left of the target, tap F2, right click then left click, and then start guiding.

Nice Video, but personally, i think less then half of those Helicopter moves you cant do with other attack helicopters, only a Cobra, Cobra is far more agile then the other two attack helicopters, and the strafeing, we would all love to give our gunner, a nice steady smooth strafe like that on a enemy base, but lets be honest, in the game, how often can you? countless stray missiles coming towards you, and fighter jets, and AT missiles, forcing you to change direction etc, not to mention Machine gun fire, gradually damaging your helicopter.

Thats because youre not playing in SPl. Youre playing in Local Server. Start SINGLE PLAYER game, choose DRAGON VALLEY and get into the gunners seat.

instead of keyboard&mouse try WASD+arrow keys... MUCH more control of your helo. i do better with it than with a joystick. for jets joystick is better though

I used to think like you do but it is only matter of practise... joystick is better...

If youve tried a helo simulator, youd notice that actually controlling a helo isnt much different when you tap keys 100 times and move the JS 100 times. Heres the difference, moving the JS 100 times keeps you in better control and better reaction than KB.

I never see anyone do barrel rolls though... which is weird.. its like the easiest thing to do.. and its REALLY effective. Especially if you get like 5 going.. lol

Because alot of peeps use mouse and keyboard like me so it involves alot of long movements of the mouse....easier to do on JS...

And generally I do a bit of both depending on the situation as far as fast strafing or hovering goes...as long as there isn't any armor/apc/fav/jet/enemy chopper nearby then its fine to do slow strafing imo, as long as you dont just plain hover, ive been m95ed out by ally hovering....
