I assumed the point to all this wasn't about actually getting the reward but learning how to be a good knifer...

Well, for those of you who don't want to work for your badges, go away now.

unless you have a shotgun, always use your knife from within 0-5ft... it gives you an overall accuracy advantage.

you will get plenty more knife kills in proper squad-play ... stay behind and slightly to one side, ready to sprint behind any firefights. As soon as the gunshots echo, hide for a little bit, then BAM, sprint and prone into the huddle of enemy troops...

... If someone comes running at you with a knife, don't panic, prone. You suddenly "dissapearing" will make them hesitate, and as they aim down towards you, hammer their legs.

Even if there were no badges or we gave not shytes for badges, this is all good advice...

stat padding won't give you skills, just a decoration.

doesnt anyone find that when people try to attack you within 0-5m the pistol always beats the knife?

I find the pistol to be accurate, but it takes too many hits to kill. The knife? One good swipe is all you need and it just feels sweeter.

I find that the quick pull button for the knife is the best idea. I have my knife bound to my mouse3 (the roller) and can pull it out in an instant (and often do recently).

One situational tactic I'll add is, if you see a dead enemy somewhere close, and an enemy running towards the body, see if you can't make it there at the same time. It's most likely the living enemy is a medic and is about to revive the dead one. You can get two kills easily this way if timed right. Be cautious though, I've been in a knife paddle fight twice thanks to mistiming or being spotted as I ran up to the medic.

tip 3 is bad. one stab kill? once i hit a noob 3 times on his chest but he still run around like a chicken!
