Well, for those of you who don't want to work for your badges, go away now. I'm only trying to help people up their knife kills with this thread. Recently I got my basic knife badge, so I'm not extremely well qualified but I'm gonna share some tips I learnt. Bearing in mind I'm not gonna say "use a karkand server, and whore the following spawn points..." I hope this helps people get badges. :)
The first tip I learnt that just generally helps me is that, unless you have a shotgun, always use your knife from within 0-5ft. Not only does it put the enemy on the back foot, but it gives you an overall accuracy advantage.
My second tip is to think hard, don't just run into a medic hoping he is going to prone and revive. Follow people round corners, set up traps, just generally be one step ahead. Example, Don't sit in Karkand trying to spawn-camp a knife kill, you'll miss plenty of opportunities, join the heavy fighting area, but from the side or back. That way you can get close without being spotted and have about 5 enemies at your disposal.
My third tip is to remember that the knife is a one-stab killer. You don't have to make time as such. Just aim and click. Although be careful, because if you miss you leave yourself vulnerable to a stab wound.
The fourth tip I have is that you will get plenty more knife kills in proper squad-play than any other situation. As your squad-mates all crawl around together, stay behind and slightly to one side, ready to sprint behind any firefights. As soon as the gunshots echo, hide for a little bit, then BAM, sprint and prone into the huddle of enemy troops. Aim and click, aim and click. A positive of this technique is that your squad medic will revive you after the fight if you are "Critically Wounded".
My fifth and final tip is slightly minor, and more for fun that anything else. If someone comes running at you with a knife, don't panic, prone. You suddenly "dissapearing" will make them hesitate, and as they aim down towards you, hammer their legs.
Well those are my tips, generally to just increase skill with knife and to help you get a few more knife kills. It's my first tips thread so tell me what ya think :)
