Well, I tried this and it was really good. It made me happy. Just one question if anyone can assist. Why in the selection screen does it say for instance: Mashtuur City 16, 32, and 64? I selected to play with 64 bots and sure enough it was the size 16 map. Any good answers are appreciated. Thanks for the help thus far too.:)

The file I posted allow you to play either a 16, 32, or 64 player SIZED map. You can edit the aidefault.ai to determine how many bots you want to play with.

For example, my mod is called Unlocks. It is a copy of the BF2 mod with modified kits and weapons. This mod contains maps I have created, modified, or downloaded.

The shortcut on my desktop point to it:

          "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +modPath mods/unlocks

The aidefault.ai file that controls the number of bot and bot skill level is found here in this mod:

          C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\Unlocks\AI\aidefault.ai

In game I have a total of 51 players: 50 bots and me.

I'll say this in case in matters.

Since I'm slow at making shortcuts, I did my mod this way:
I installed to my directory c:/mo's place and then in the "levels" folder I made a copy of the default levels so I can revert back to them for online play. I then installed the (awesome) mod and got the results I mentioned above. Question: If I install the aidefault.ai you mention above, will it open up my other default maps to be 16, 32, and 64 sized as well? Just wondering as I won't be able to install and find out until Friday night or Sat. morning. Thank you for your specific help, and consistent assistance. Mo.

Re: Mashtuur City and Kubra Dam

No. The aidefault.ai file only controls the # of bots in your 16, 32, or 64 player SIZED maps.

So in my single player game I have 51 bots if I play either a 16, 32, or 64 player map.

The gamemodes directory in your server.zip file determines the size of the map.

I'll post more later today to help explain it...

Sounds very understandable. I suppose you know my next question: May I mod my default maps to be variable sizes or is your mod only going to supplement the mod you helped me install (which is still a very good thing).

Re: Mashtuur City and Kubra Dam

Ffolkes: That mod for Mash and Kubra maps for SP sounds great... Haven't downloaded because I'm at work atm, but when I get home........ Lol

But I really hate Kubra (sorry!), and as for Mash... well, I can take it or leave it. However, I would love to be able to try out some of the other maps in more than the standard-SP-16-player sized maps... Are there other maps out there with the 32- and 64-player versions that can be included into this mod to give you a "proper" SP experience on all maps? I hate the 16-player maps... One other thing: are these 32 and 64-player maps identical to the MP maps - eg flags in the same places, same vehicle spawns etc?

Re: Mashtuur City and Kubra Dam

Just want to clear something up since the words "Mod" and "Map" are being used interchangeably.

The maps posted above for Mashtuur City and Kubra Dam are maps not mods. They are to be downloaded and extracted into a different mod other than BF2. For example: ...\mods\YOURNEWMOD\levels\Strike_at_Karkand\.

Do not install to the BF2 mod directory or you will screw up your online gaming.

Make a copy of the BF2 mod directory and copy the contents into a new mod folder: For example: ...\mods\YOURNEWMOD\

Then create a shortcut on your desktop pointing to your new mod:
                    "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +modPath mods/YOURNEWMOD

Then download as many Single Player maps you like into the ...mods\YOURNEWMOD\Levels folder.

                    Maps:

Thanks once again. BTW, I only installed mine the way I did because I'm thinking about going SP only and never playing online. Not sure.

Question: What is the difference between the word coop and multiplaying? Coop was mentioned earlier in this thread and that threw me off. Of course, I'm not the brightest one.

It is a little confusing. They are both multiplayer. However, the difference is being playing multiplayer online on ranked/unranked servers or playing multiplayer with friends using SP/Co-op. Friends would connect using the "Connect to IP" option and access your computer.

I went to that website you posted about the many SP maps available. WOW! So I got fired up enought to do what you said. Make a whole new mod location where I have my folder YOURMODS and create a shortcut. I will be doing that right now as I'm starting to download every map available for SP. One thing, where does that AI file go? Thank you, Mo.

Sorry. After reading a third time I see where you said where your path is.

So, for my PC, it is C:\Mo's Place\BF2\mods\bf2\YourMods\AI then...

Is there anywhere else where we can go for SP maps? It seems you must have a gamespy account in order to skip the waiting times to download. Gamespy wants me to wait 4 minutes before I can even download a map. I waited about 5 minutes before I could even download my first map and my plan is to download all maps (assuming I can use them all for SP). Am I just out of luck?
