    Re: An Accuracy discussion

There's plenty of things that are inaccurate about the stats in this game besides just the accuracy. For example:

If I tag along with a really good medic, and during the course of a round I get 10 kills but get killed 20 times and revived by the medic 20 times, my K/D ratio is 10/0 for that round when in reality I sucked and should have had a K/D ratio of .5 --- is that really accurate?

If myself and a teammate both go medic and toss health packs all over the place, but by some chance nobody uses mine does that mean my teamplay sucks because I had no heals?

If I shoot at opponents contantly hitting them, but somehow a teammate always manages to finish them off before I can, and I end up with 0 kills, does that mean I suck?

Or on the flip side, if I'm the guy that shoots the 1 bullet to finish each guy off after my teammates do most of the work, does that mean I'm elite because I get all the kills and 100% accuracy for using just 1 bullet each time?

The stats are nice to look at, but I really wouldn't take them that seriously. I like to check on my K/D ratio and accuracy, but the truth is, they don't mean much other than to myself as a measuring stick for improvement.

So if tks count as "hits" then when I get bored instead of shooting the wall or a tree I should be shooting a teamate so it doesn't hurt my accuracy right?

      LOL

In the questions below, please keep in mind this principle: It seems as if direct hits don't count towards accuracy (I have OK accuracy with the grenade launcher according to stats, but I don't remember hitting people dead on)

        Questions:

        1. If I drop 2 bombs and kill 4 people, is that 200% accuracy?

        2. I never use missiles on the jets. I just keep bomb view open and shoot down jets with my guns (i'm an old f12 DC gunner - plus, they don't hear a lock and usually don't squirm too much). Are my shots from a jet counted towards my overall accuracy? Them thing pump a lot of lead.

        3. In a shotgun, it shoots multiple rounds. Do each count towards accuracy?

        4. I come around a corner and spray a guy full of lead and he dies. My client is X ms (ping) behind a the server and I probably got the last 2 bullets (when i thought he was alive on my screen, but server says he's dead) into his dead (and falling) carcus. Are those not accurate? Does it count those 2 rounds as accurate?

        5. Is artillery factored into overall accuracy?

        6. If I kill a guy by using my tank cannon to splash the wall he's next to, is that factored in as an accurate hit? It seems that way with nade launchers.

        7. (I don't TK, but may as well ask since we're on the subject). Does TK shots count into accuracy?

        8. Have you ever been bored and shot at random things because you don't care what your stats say about accuracy? (I do it all the time - I like to make smiley's in walls with bullet impacts).

        Discuss and enlighten me.
        1: NO
        2: NO
        3: YES
        4: YES
        5: NO
6: ARMOR NOT COUNTED IN ACCURACY
        7: NO
        8: YES

there you go. remmeber that accuracy is only for infantry weapons, not jets/tanks/tow etc.

          Re: An Accuracy discussion

So shots from a vehicle don't count? What about shots fired from your rifle out of the door of a blackhawk?

And if that DOES count, how about mounted MGs on walls and such? I would guess the .50 on the hummer doesn't factor, but what about SAW's on sandbags?

So basically, any "i just fired my rifle" message to the server that results in "that bullet caused me to lower the health on an item", is counted as accuracy?

But what about shock paddles? Does that cause -100 damage or something and that is why it is counted towards accuracy? Do medics that can revive on the first shot have better accuracy than others?

thank you for the honest answers folks!

            Yes, paddles count twoards accuracy.
here are every item that factor twoards accuracy:
            Assault Rifles
            Grenade Launcher Attachment
            Carbines
            Light Machine Guns
            Sniper Rifles
            Pistols
            AT/AA
            Submachine Guns
            Shotguns
            Knife
            Defibrillator
            Explosives (C4, Claymore, AT Mine)
            Hand Grenade

ghilleman, that seems like simply a copy and paste of the stats. I'm fully aware of the things that make up weaons accuracy statistics.

So average that out and see if it's your accuracy. If it is, you're right. If it's not, you're wrong.

                Re: An Accuracy discussion

My accuracy was extremely high when I started, and has been dropping constantly. Is that normal? I'm down to 20%. That's the only graph regarding my stats that is decreasing, everything else is increasing. My guess is more you shoot, more you miss, but I don't know.

How about when you shoot the red berrels or those gas tanks next to someone and get a kill?

That only counts against your accuracy. Only when you shoot a person with a firearm, and your bullet hits, that goes towards your accuracy.
