    An Accuracy discussion

I was wondering what is counted towards accuracy?

In the questions below, please keep in mind this principle: It seems as if direct hits don't count towards accuracy (I have OK accuracy with the grenade launcher according to stats, but I don't remember hitting people dead on)

    Questions:

    1. If I drop 2 bombs and kill 4 people, is that 200% accuracy?

    2. I never use missiles on the jets. I just keep bomb view open and shoot down jets with my guns (i'm an old f12 DC gunner - plus, they don't hear a lock and usually don't squirm too much). Are my shots from a jet counted towards my overall accuracy? Them thing pump a lot of lead.

    3. In a shotgun, it shoots multiple rounds. Do each count towards accuracy?

    4. I come around a corner and spray a guy full of lead and he dies. My client is X ms (ping) behind a the server and I probably got the last 2 bullets (when i thought he was alive on my screen, but server says he's dead) into his dead (and falling) carcus. Are those not accurate? Does it count those 2 rounds as accurate?

    5. Is artillery factored into overall accuracy?

    6. If I kill a guy by using my tank cannon to splash the wall he's next to, is that factored in as an accurate hit? It seems that way with nade launchers.

    7. (I don't TK, but may as well ask since we're on the subject). Does TK shots count into accuracy?

    8. Have you ever been bored and shot at random things because you don't care what your stats say about accuracy? (I do it all the time - I like to make smiley's in walls with bullet impacts).

    Discuss and enlighten me.

    Re: An Accuracy discussion

good questions... I wondered about these things myself. I can only answer a few...

I don't think firing from a vehicle.. be it a jeep, tank, boat, plane, or heli... counts towards your accuracy. I don't think arty counts either.

and I think each shot from the shot gun... counts towards accuracy... many shots from one trigger pull of the shotgun.

    That's about all I know.

I dont look at an overall accuarcy at all..
go to your stats and look at your acc. for the weapon..if it isnt listed cause it is Art./Vehicle/Bombs then forget about it.

I'm guessing a shot gun shot counts as one shot. If not that then they might count it as 2 since it shoots so many pellets. I doubt they count every pellet as a shot though.

I think people hat have high accuracy on rifles have some kind of skill. Then again, some rifles are too easy.

wow thats neat i didn't know you could look up your accuracy for the weapons themselves

anyways, that doesn't answer any of my questions about overall accuracy. do you have any input regarding my questions?

i guess if you look at your stats you have a hole buinch of weopons. ranked server record all the schots with them and the hits. then the come up with a accuracy of that weopen vehicle or plane or enything else. and then they count everything with eichother up and make a the accuracy

I wish they didn't included defibrilator accuracy into your weapons accuracy.

ok so why do useless threads get like 6 pages of responses but a serious discussion only gets 5 responses?

I suppose it could be that no one has answers to my questions. Not that I lose sleep over it, but it would be neat to know.

They were after all some pretty good questions.

ive been so bored with this game that i haven't played it in a while, you just gave me a new reason to possibly reinstall it. it makes me think about creating a fresh account and trying some of things out, kill one person at point blank with each weapon and then shoot at nothing just once and see what the accuracy turns out as.

                      [off topic]

i suppose i have to make a new sig and host it on these boards themselves, looks like my inactivity on the nato site has finally gotten my free space taken away :p

                        Re: An Accuracy discussion

1: No, it does not count as 200% accuracy, becuase i do not think vehicle attacks (save for .50 cal on jeep/vodnik) count twoards accuracy for the reason that you can hit more than one person with one shot.

                        2: see above

3:if one pellet hits, i think it counts as a hit.

4:If You're laggin, and he still looks alive, but in reality isn't, then they count as misses. I've died before, but still been able to move/fire (although i didn't do damage) due to lag.

                        5:no, see #1

6: Launchers count as a hit if you hit with splash, otherwise they would just be glorified slingshots. as for tanks, again see #1 (wow, thats a popular number...)

7: I think that team hits do not count., but any misses incurred while trying to hit, do.

8:yes, this will drop your accuracy into the nether reigons, as the game tracks each shot fired from your gun.

NOTE: these are all hypothetical answers, so if i am wrong, by all means, please correct me.

I'm pretty sure shots to a vehicle count. I never played as sniper before but I did for the first time and was stranded. So I decided to shoot the lone chopper in the air a couple of times. I died and respawned as spec ops. I checked my stats afterwards and had 100% accuracy for sniper :) It's gone down unfortunatly.

                              Re: An Accuracy discussion

Ghilleman's responses were pretty close, but I'll just touch up on a few of them.

                              1. If I drop 2 bombs and kill 4 people, is that 200% accuracy?
No. As long as one bomb damages at least one target, that bomb is a hit. If the second bomb damages nothing, then that bomb is a miss. Your accuracy for bombs would, therefore, be 50%. But like Ghilleman said, vehicles stats don't count towards accuracy. I'm just speaking theoretically.

                              3. In a shotgun, it shoots multiple rounds. Do each count towards accuracy?
Yes. Each time you shoot a shotgun round, it launches 8 pellets. Each pellet counts as 12.5% accuracy. So in order to maintain 100% accuracy with a shotgun, you must hit with all 8 pellets per shot which is almost impossible even if you're standing right next to the guy (which is one reason most people's shotgun accuracy hovers around the 10% range ).

                              7. (I don't TK, but may as well ask since we're on the subject). Does TK shots count into accuracy?
                              Actually yes, they do.

The basic rule of thumb is, if it does damage it counts as a hit. Doesn't matter if it does damage to a friendly, an enemy, a vehicle (well, the vehicle has to be occupied for it to count), or what have you, if it damages a sentient being, it counts as a 'hit' in your accuracy.
