If you are commander and you are dropping supplies (or perhaps the upcoming vehicles), please remember that there is a northerly drift.
This means that if you want to pinpoint drop a supply crate on the crane or next to a team asset, place the point of your mouse a few meters south of the target spot. I say this because I know that a number of times I've had commanders graciously try to drop me a crate to a building roof or near my bridge, but then the crate either falls into the water or simply falls right past it into a ravine or into the road.
