Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
Just saw this leaked fix list of patch 1.3. Everyone seems to focus on the bolded part, but if you look two points up, it says
"Fixed the bug where helicopters abandonded in the air would continue flying"
Does this mean the switch seat-TV guide days are over??
technically its not abandoned, y'know on the map you see the grey vehicle when no enemy is in it, well if they are in the gunner seat it still wont show, would be interesting to see what that means, wether it has a "blow up" timer faster than ground vehicles or what :|
I doubt it, but who knows i'm sure you will still be able to move seats, but i think when you go from pilot to gunner the chopper will be off and falling and when you switch back you will have to input all your controls ala takeoff.
You guys do realize that you can land your helo on the roof of a building and switch to the gunner spot. You still get to use the gunner's weapons, but you're a sitting duck and you have limited viewing angle. Just play it safe: take a gunner with you.

I think this was set-up to keep people from switching to gunner to avoid missle lock more than it was to keep people from being the gunner while piloting.
I think this would be to stop snipers taking the black hawk on mashtuur, jumping on a roof somewhere, and leaving the chopper spinning through the air for the next 15 minutes.
And there is absolutely nothing wrong with solo-chopper piloting. It's a lot harder to do and it definetly doesn't beat a competent pilot+copilot team. :)

I noticed that as well and came to the same conclusion, i bet the helo will throttle down and plummet when the driver bails (or switches seats) now.
I think it means that when someone takes a BH or pig, and bails over a base, the chopper then spins and climbs for a while, leaving their team without it. I bet that when someone bails from it, it will drop to the ground soon after. But, we'll see.

Then you better hope your HALO drop lets you clear the crash site before your BH arrives. :)

I disagree. Today, for instance, I got into a game at the beginning. A guy grabbed an attack chopper. Started a Squad and then LOCKED the Squad. To me that is just selfish and assinine. As you point out it doesn't beat a pilot/gunner team so why do it? Additionally, it hurt the team. Not that these idiots who fly alone care about the team. I have seen, as I'm sure many here have, a pilot/gunner RULE a map. This chopper whore would have been gone if it was my server. Of course, there was nothing stopping someone from jumping in the gunner seat had he been at the Pad. But I heard several guys calling out 'Gimme a ride' to no avail.
Good, and good. I was so sick of that solo tv guiding. In vietnam they increased the time limit on those cobras between changing seats. I could still do it but it was alot harder.
It will be awesome to see this stupid tactic moved. I mean bf2 is arcade style but lets have some freaking realism, to the point people aren't jumping into an impossible to reach seat every second and firing a missile. That promotes bad team play, because then your flying without a gunner, and probally tking for it.
I ran into a server yesterday where a guy who spent the whole round taking his team mates that jumped in the gunner seat with him, and letting them die off the edge of the map, just so he could solo tv guide. People were ****ed, and whats sad is the guy sucked. I killed him about 8 times in a row, before he was kicked by an admin. Thats just freaking lame that people do that ****.
Most solo helos suck, in all honesty: you have to see the good ones in action to appreciate the talent required to do it right.
Still, it will be interesting to see what Dice comes up with for 1.3: if it does make it impossible to seat-switch (unless you're really high), the really talented solo pilots will outshine every wannabes with hellfire skills.

The problem with fetching gunners sometimes is that they don't even bloody know how to fire a TV missile. When they see a tank or an enemy chooper desperate to take us down, he just points his gun at them and shoot... That's where I prefer solo TVing... I think that you would be able to provide better chopper support that way.
