The only way you can get a system like this to work is by combining it with a different server approach. So would have to have servers which use the system of Certification and server with Non-Certification. That way people can choose which server-system they want to join. You could expand the Certified one with a seperate ranking system for who gets the Pilot slot in the same sence as the Commander election is decided right now.

But to be totaly honest, it kinda takes away the flexibility of the game. One of the strengths of BF2 is the low-treshold approach it now has. If you have the game, sorted the keys and config, you can start to play. Implementing a system of certifications is counterproductive in getting in new players I think.

Meh, Engi is vehicle class and that goes for jets too. you can land anywhere to repair if your airfield has been taken (Works like a charm on Wake)

It would be very nice to see some kind of qeue system implemented.. If someone is waiting for a vehicle to spawn, I will never try to steal it for myself. Unfortunately, this doesn't work both ways

Dont stress truckstop, as you can see from my sig (and mg36ce fan's actually) its far from an original insult, he's used it several times.. i shall vote bad idea because id prefer seeing something to stop Tking.

I don't think voting who can enter vehicles will solve anything. Mutiny votes against those who suck at the vehicle will be nonstop and just as annoying as the commander mutiny votes. And there WILL STILL be TKing just for spite if you didn't get voted in.

I got a better idea:

Have the game force you to pass a basic training for all jets and choppers - similar to Americas Army. This will force people to at least understand the basics of how to fly/gun.

how about this: sign up for the jet - this means you get on a waiting list. when your turn is up, you spawn directly into the jet no matter where you are on the map. if you don't want it hop out and the next person in line spawns in it.

This idea is interesting, but a little more thought needs to go into it.

How about this, before every match every team member gathers together and has a giant knife fight and the last guy alive gets to choose whether he want's to fly. And, in order from last killed any additional spots are given to those individuals.

I proffered this same idea awhile back but received lukewarm responses from it.

I had asked if a setup like Red Orchestra has might work better, where only a few of each class are available at the start of each match, so that only people with that class can fly a jet/helo during the match. Once they are gone, they are gone.

good idea, but with some kinks: then people with the fastest computers (not necessarily the best pilots) will be applying at the beginning of the round. (especially if the round starts immediately.)

Maybe it could work in reverse so that the ones with the lowest rank and least experience get the jets/helos first.

You got it! More people would eventually learn how to fly though and the skill levels would level out.
