The problem with your analogy is that the commander is, in fact, in the competition as well. The commander can be killed, the commander can kill, the commander gives supplies, the commander directs, etc. . . the commander is in fact an integral part of the match.

Sure, a coach can affect the outcome, however, the coach doesn't go out there and do any of the backflips for the competitors.

And the system is fine. SUre, some commanders who really don't help the outcome of the match very much will get medals inappropriately. However, I have gotten no medals on maps like Wake when, if it wasn't for me and my squad capping a flag after the enemy had taken all of our flags, we would have lost. However, the guy in the plane who never got out to help got the gold medal.

On the flip side. . . sometimes even the best commander giving orders and helping everyone can get **** points because his team sucked ass.

I really think it balances out just fine.

I believe it is fine. It actually takes a good commander to get the most points in a round. That usually goes to the good helo pilot or sometimes a good infantryman. If a commander pulls out the high score then give him the star.

i disagree...it takes a good team for a commander to get a gold star, not a good commander, and this is unfortunate...because the commander score is the average of his team, then doubled, the only way to get a gold star as a soldier is to stand far and above the rest of your team and the next highest scorer on your team which unfortunately means you're limited to spawn camping/vehicle whoring both of which are lame and boring IMO...

i get tired of working my @ss off for the team to help win only to get nudged out of a end of round star by a commander that did nothing but try to send me on suicide missions to other flags when i've set my squad to defend a flag...there are few "good" commanders out there, and while i do believe that they should be awarded for being commander by still getting the 2x i disagree that they should be in contention for a top 3 star...a good commander doesn't die, a good commander ends the round with a high score with 3 zeroes after it...

He isn`t at the battle-front, so he shouldn't get the medal which a true infantry soldier deserves.

But he should get the 2x bonus.

I was thinking that another medal specifically for the commander, but not taking the medal of a soldier. It does suck when you work hard to get pipped by the dude who sat back with nothing. I am at least glad the points go against the commander score though...this way you can see who really does the work without being Commander.

Ah ok sry... Now then the commander should get nothing than regular points.
I don't like commanders which are getting 2x bonus and do nothin for it (by giving no commands, sending no supplies and so on..).
