Should it be mentioned here that it's looking like after 1.3, solo choppering is gonna get way more hard?

If my hunch is correct, this means that if you switch seats, you're gonna fall like a brick.

Unless they're on my team, then they're wasting resources.

Solo chopper pilots are so much fun to spank in one on one chopper fights if you've got a good pilot/gunner working together. Let's you fold their ego into a point 'n jam it in their eye. :p

Good teamwork in choppers will always own soloists.

YEs whenever I am piloting a chopper my gunner always misses the TV shots that are vital for us to stay alive

And when I'm gunner I always get pilots that fly STILL (capping a flag or thinking they're helping me steady my aim or something) and get me m95'ed all the time

Here's a quick and easy tip for getting some good chopper teamwork going:
When you get in the bird, make a squad. Invite whoever it is that gets in with you into that squad. You are using VOIP, right? Start talking!

I think this is moreso refering to how you can level off the heli flying it. jump out and it'll fly right up and never spawn for like ever.

Regardless. Have you tried Solo in the MEC chopper? the thing drops out of the sky. you literally need to stay above 100~ to stay safe. I was at around 70ish at gulf of oman. i went to solo tv missle. at perfect hover. The missle got to almost 300. when i hit the ground. Funnily i actually got the kill to. Honestly they literally cant make solo heli impossible/hard. Have you tried to kill infantry with the hellfire:pilot missles? you quite literally need to be RIGHT on. There is like no splash damage at all. When now with solo. i can just hit f2 and chain gun them? sure the spin is annoying. But it doesnt do much. plenty of time to shoot. Moreover, a heli with a gunner vs one without. the one with is essentially guarenteed to die. and you can NEVER run away from a heli battle.

A heli that cant solo-gunner might as well not even leave the helipad because the heli will never kill anything.

Few pages back someone said not to play high point servers because they are illegal. They are NOT illegal. and I would like you to prove to us that they are.

PS. its kinda wierd. Anything that turns out to be strong keeps getting buffed. Eventually you will have everything completely useless. and the only way anyone will kill anyone is run them over in cars. It takes skill to solo in a heli. Took me lots of practice to master. and hell im not even near the best.

Took me lots of practice to master. and hell im not even near the best.

I think you ment "nerfed", not buffed, yeah?

I believe the idea here is to promote teamwork. Attack choppers were intended to be powerful when crewed by 2 people not as a tool for lonewolves to get high scores. Same reason that they reduced the rocket payload. Dice had a "vision" for what they wanted BF2 gameplay to be. This patch seems to be correcting the deviation from that vision.

Yeah I hate those idiots. GAH! Ive typed so many times in ALL CAPS, a heli behind us!!!. And they NEVER listen. Idiots. Or the gunner who is staring at a butterfly while you have a chopper bearing down on you.

Those of us who can do it properly make a tremendous difference, so why accept an inferior gunner ? If you were in our shoes, you would understand.

Not the smart ones who attack everything from the perimeter. If you get the occasional solo '*******' type, once you get taken down, you'll never get off the ground. You can usually find those guys on the 24/7 FHM server playing Chinese.

Exactly, option 1 is a gunner that fires a cannon out at a tree with a heli 100m away hovering and lined up for tv kill.

option 2 is solo tv

option 3 is rare, and its called a good pilot AND gunner....
