Sound-dude did a really good job overall. Many sound devs don't get it that they need to make it sound very staccato and let EAX do the rest.

It's also a bit sad the sound didn't make it onto the m249 from the demo movies though. That sound was better than the current one (imho).

the gun sounds in BF2 are too weak and puny sounding. The M16 sounds like a rapid fire BB gun more than an assault rifle.

they feel great and they feel like you can really d some damage. i find myself firing off ruds into explosive barrels whenevr i ass because of the effects!

One of the reasons I play this game hardcore-style.

Hmm... I dont know guys. I havent played that many FPS games, and I certainly dont find BF2 guns sounds to be that impressive at all. They sound weak, *****-like. Like cartoon guns. A weapons sound in game should reflect its power, or at least should create an illusion that youre using a FIREARM. BF2 has failed to deliver that impression.

M4A1, if I compare it to SWAT4 M4A1 is seriously lacking. AK47, same. Meh, pistols sound like peashooters.

I really dont see how you get impressed by that.

to be honest i never really noticed which i suppose is a compliment in itself - i never had any gripes really
although the L85 sound does irk me somewhat :/

Has anyone here changed the BF2OpenAL.dll with there creative one if u have a creative soundcard that is, and that file is located in the system 32 folder.A mate of mine found a thread sumwere on this and it defo give you beter crisper sound and a slight increase in frames per second aswell.

Only a few beefs with sound.
AK47 sounds too shallow
L85 sounds really plasticy (only way i can describe it)
I suppose the Pistols are ok as they are meant to "feel" weak when shooting them.

The sounds are great, BUT, i hate it when that bug starts and you keep hearing the sound but they arnt firing there weapon!

Love the sounds in BF2 ^^

Especially the G3! Sounds really beefy and powerful.

I wish they'd used the sound of the AWP in CSS for the L96 tho.. Sounds like an artillery shell being fired!
