I do play by the rules! i dont baserape (even when its in the server description saying its ok to do it) etc etc and all the other rules that are set by various servers.

I Just object to others telling me how to play. What are you going to do next? put a time limit on how long you can stay in a vehicle without calling it whoreing??? we all gonna have to take a ticket and wait for that tank of karkand?

Thats the thing....in reality a... RANKED server CAN NOT have any rules that are not sanctioned by EA/DICE

In order to have a ranked server(ie. be an EA "trusted partner" what ever the Frack that means) you have to agree to a boat load of regulations...specific server settings, and server rules.

Right, because when people speed it becomes unsafe, and others LIVES are at risk. This is a video game, with an imaginary statistics system that is not going to be around forever, that EA basically says we own anyway and can wipe out on a whim. There is a big differences between getting uptight over things that actually matter, and things that are in place for enjoyment. There's over 500,000 BF2 players, all ages and all walks of life, they all have different views on playing styles, and end goals, coupled with different sets of ethics, to bind tham all into a set of arbitrary rules is kind of pointless. We have seen what happens when people get screwed over by this, rampant TKers, glitchers screwing up the system because they can, etc...

Everyone just needs to lighten up and enjoy playing. People worry to much about someone having the upper hand on them it's pitiful, it's a game chill out and enjoy.

If you get busted playing on K/P servers, well, you didn't care too much anyway, so who cares. If you're goal is to be the uber tactical straight player, do it, but don't expect that when you go to a public server everyone is thinking of your style of play.

If you don't like the rules, play unranked. Is that really so difficult? Ranked = pre-determined documented ruleset.

I know its only a game but it was made by us originals who bought and loved the first series and the rest of EA's games and not just one group.

then all those badges, medals and unlocks you have really wouldnt mean crap..

be prepared the online ranking system is here to stay there are 4 other games in the works right now by other developers that will also have a type of ROE, including 2142,

the ROE was designed and written to try and keep a level playing field for a skill level of players...

it's my job I work my ass off doing it, and I have spent a year trying to better a community..

Personally im not for OR against K&P servers...

Way I see it, I don't play on them and if I run into one, I don't have to click and join it. There are tons of other servers out there playing the way I want to play, I can join one of them. If that is what some people see as fun, good for them, have at it and have fun.

I realize that this is a game and the medals/badges/stats are all meaningless cr*p. I am not going to get a real life award out of it, so it is not worth getting bent over some guy that is getting points differently, there is no real reward for first place. Self satisfaction for getting in the top in a video game is not a big deal (to me at least) when there are real life things that should be getting that kind of attention.

If anyone wants to feel like they are playing for real competion, join a league, trust me, it is way more fun and intense than a pub match.

I didn't realize that they actually had any real life meaning to begin with? What are you really working towards (in the game)? There is no ending, it is just a shampoo bottle: Lather Rinse Repeat. There is no finale', just some little images that you get for spending X amount of time online and doing X amount of things in a map, only to do it over and over again.

So what is the actually meaning of the awards in this game, a feeling of achievement?

Unranked Servers. Ahhhh, not part of the Global Ranking System. What does that mean? Your not hooked up to the Global Points taking server. So, you can do whatever you want on these servers. No rules. (except the servers/admins rules) Pistols, knifes, whatever. Do as you please.

In the end, you wanna be ranked? Abide by the rules. Dont care about ranking? Fine, play unranked, and do as you wish.
Pretty simple if you ask me. How can ANYONE argue this? You cant.

and there are alot of people that are cheaters that bring down servers and game play which makes it no an enjoyable expierence for normal people to play.

How about if a few clans in your league suddenly decide to play under a different ruleset than the agreed league rules because they are sick of you "telling them how to play" and they feel they should be able to play however they like?

UNRANKED SERVERS:
DO whatever you want to. ANYTHING. No one CARES!. Have fun. Knifes only. Tanks Only. Pistols only. Whatever tickles your fancy. Its your deal. Enjoy it. No one will say one PEEP about it.

RANKED SERVERS:
They have a set of rules, which attempts to put an order, if you will, regarding a Global Ranking System. When you enter into the ranked arena, expect to follow these rules. If you dont agree with them, then see the section regarding UNRANKED SERVERS above.
That is it. There is nothing to argue here.
