Amazing how BF2 has ROE :)

I just find it amazing how a video has became so popular and is so large in magnitude that people have made ROE (rules of enagement) for it. We use ROE in real life war, and its there to keep the war being fought right, at least thats what I think. And there are also people that enforce the bf2 ROE too, just like there are people who enforce the real life ROE.

It's kind of weird when reality starts to cross over into video game land.

I always thought the point of playing games was to get away from reality for just a little while. Now it seems that we are bringing it into la-la land with us.

Now i Garuentee that if there was a sheet head running at you with a ak and you know that he is closer then the ROE allow you are going to do what ever it takes to put that sheet head down!!! ROE will be the last thing you are thinking of and saving your own ARSE will be the only thing you are thinking of!!!

Yeah well you saw what happened to the pistol thread because of "other opinions" just like i said. Its that community feedback policy. Maybe too much is a bad thing.

Your not allowed to have fun. If it appears you are having fun, then you must stop what you are doing.

If someone is doing something that doesn't suit you, you should not have to disconnect and find another server that is more to your liking, it does not matter that you are not the one paying for the server bill.

The way I kind of see it, EA/Dice should be the ones paying for all the ranked servers. You can't run them the way you want, you basically get to have admin rights that you can't use how you see fit because it mite conflict with the ROEs no matter how much the guy is ****ing you off. So basically, you are paying for advertising rights for your server and maybe lock it down in unranked mode once or twice a week for an 1.5 hours at a crack for a clan match.

Basically, EA/Dice has you paying for their servers and gives you a bit of admin status on the side, and for EA/Dice, this is all free. On top of that, every tenth (I think it is ten, maybe more or less) server that a server provider rents out, they have to kick one back to EA for free for them to call 'EA Official Ranked Server #9999'.

Yeah...that would be stupid. If EA/DICE paid for and ran the servers themselves, we'd end up having to pay money just to be able to play online. That would suck, because as much as I like BF2, I would not pay to play online. I bet most others wouldn't either, and the game would die.

any rules need to be built into the game to stop things happening that shouldnt be. not being told you cant do this or cant do that when the game allows you to.
