I think you'll find the general consensus on this forum is that BFV was a complete piece of garbage.

I would love to see a poll on it then because the "general consensus" is your wrong.

Oh god. Reminded me of the countless raids we made on US airfield on one specific map.
Was awesome, no UAV to spot you out so all you had to do was go prone behind cover when choppers went over playing "I fought the law".
Then crawl round the outskirts of the airfield and launch an attack on people waiting for choppers and then take the choppers and your off.
God that was so much fun!
The bloke who mentioned about the sniper's 2nd choice rifle was damn fine!

I just figured since you mentioned the rifles weren't that good, I'd add that maybe you forgot about that 2nd weapon. I use to get one shot kills with it at logn ranges while the others were trying their best with the M16-scoped!

off my head, radio on, flying a huey gunship or a transport with a good team into a hot LZ...

I'm not sure BF2 has moments like that.

It was good, the teamplay was better and flying planes and helis actually took skill.

Once they sorted out the gameplay bugs and the kit balance issues (M60/LAW combo anyone?) the infantry combat in BFV was a lot of fun, and the maps in many cases were very good. It was when the air power came into play that things became painful for those of us stuck on the ground. The game was really just coming into it's own when BF2 came out and everyone bailed.

CommanderD, sorry bud but it took absolutely NO skill to fly the Helis. It was very common for a skilled pilot and gunner to go a la planes before 1.2 patch in BF:2 and go 83-1 for a round. Base Raping with Helis was common practice and the counter measures Dice included in their last patch (a stationary gun at each base) certainly didn't balance things out. Aside from those Major problems i loved the game. And i agree i think i actually had more "Fun" playing it then BF:2. Mobile spawn points, The tunes, Airlifting vehicles and spawn points,Punji sticks/booby traps, running through the jungle, bouncing bettys, and my Fav. weapon Motars is what made BF:V a truely great game. God i miss it..............

My first from the battlefield series. Not as good as bf2 since its a lot older and doesnt play/look as good as bf2 does. But there were some kickass features in this game, lots of which have already been mentioned.

I liked the shovel and punji sticks - those sticks were better than claymores are in BF2! I had terrible lag in BF:V making it very difficult to play. The circle-of-death helicopter spawn camping really sucked though. Overall I liked BF1942 better than BF:V.

DAWDAM, I have to disagree about the skill comment in BF V.

In Bf V, it actually took a little more skill than flying in B2 to get kills. I mean, the only jet that had a2a was the Phantom so one was left trying to avoid their fire AND try and get some kills. I use to get mad kills hitting ground targets with the MIG's missiles, where-as in BF2 you never really need to line-up your target, you just look for the little triangle marker and follow-through with the run.

It took me SO long to grasp how to fly the jets properly, and without AA it was left to the "skilled" pilots to take others down. In BF2, jump in a J10 and you're pretty much garanteed a win.

As for the helos, it did take a little more skill than in BF2, especially learning to hover properly. (no speed indicator; 0km) I was so used to flying in Bf V that Bf2 came to be REAL easy, but that's to be expected.

seeing those circling helis over the flag poles were funny as hell..
and to think all these heli and jet bf2 players who have 100 points at
the end of the round with only 2 team points think they have skills..
hahahaha..
