I can't say I have had one of these talks...
Probably because she plays almost as much as I do.

Heh, mine was like that with Sims2 for a while, but when she eased off gaming.....

      edit:

I should add that as I worked more hours with each promotion, my game time ate up more and more of my free time. I think that is when it really became an issue.

My advice to everyone who is in a relationship, married or dating, is to put the game behind ALL relationship related priorites. This game will be of little consolation to you when she leaves. Just my 2c.

          Your a lucky guy....!

My wife thinks playing video games is on a par with visiting prostitutes and believe me i'm not kidding.
I'm like a dirty old man who has to creep about grabbing a hour here and there when she's out.

Perfect description of me, only minus the "kiddo" part.

              Re: The Talk...

Chores, errands, work, school work and necessary things are all completed first before gaming.

Taking care of the spouse is the path to gaming paradise.

When spouse comes into the computer room with a necessary problem or needing help the computer gets shut down. I can always get back to the game later. That is the way it is in my home.

I do take care to play in servers where if you are forced to "Abandon" a game before the round ends it does not count as a "Loss" I have a high number of abandoned games but dont suffer too much on the w/l ratio.

Oh BTW, My wife does not "Talk" she gets a bucket of water and heads for the case. Im on my third machine with one in reserve. So. There it is.

so, i got thinking ... any ideas on how i can convince her that it's NOT a game and i am actually in training with a computer simulation to be able to protect our home in the instance that armageddon occurs...?

Mine doesn't want my attention anyway, so I might as well play BF2  . I'm still getting "the talks" though. Who cares LOL. She started hating me recently when I used bad terminology with her. All I said was that I will pawn her with the noobtoob LOL.

wait til she goes to bed. I'm lucky, my wife goes to bed at 10 every night! SO the only time it eats up is my exercise, guitar practice, other useful stuff I can do! that way I'm the only victim. hehe.
