I wouldn't play with broadband anyway. Cable or nothing.

Yes but if thats all you can get thats all you can get . Cable is very localised to people in the UK , mostly major towns .

If you have a cable modem, you should already be connected, AOL for Broadband in reality is not even needed, it's just some ******** modified internet explorer program made for people who usually aren't so computer smart. As long as the modem is on, and the network settings on your computer is configured properly, you should be able to use the net.

Do you have to have AOL up and running to access the internet? If not then don't because it's a resource hog. The other issue might be because you are using AOL highspeed it may be connecting you to the AOL servers in the US, rather then local UK dial up servers. This is fine if you're just surfing the web. But for playing games it would suck.

man... you should kick aol out and get yourself some other internet company. if you have a router make sure that you change the settings of the DMZ to your pc. might solve the problem.

actually for us here on the USA. Broadband means Cable.

Actually for us here in the USA broadband means HIGH SPEED ACCESS, meaning anything that is not dial up. And to the idiot (dont take it to heart) that says cable or nothing, cable is not nessesarily better. Where i am, i can get 6mbits speed of cable, and DSL is only 3, guess what i have DSL why, because the cable sucks in my area, i use to get disconnected with cable all the time. And about your ping, it also depends on teh servers you join.

Do you have to have AOL open or on to access the internet???
If you just open internet explorer can you get on the internet???
Have you try resettign your modem( disconnet the power wait one minute and reconnect)???
Have you call your internet provider and tell them what's going on, maybe they can be of better assistance.

I think calling my ISP may be the next option .
