One well documented and rational report with lots of backup could do the trick... Are ya up for putting a little work in on it Soup?

Still EVERYONE who reads this and can get that information should send in a complaint.

If yer really sick of these guys, this is a chance to do a little damage back. If Maz keeps it up, he might find himself blacklisted by ISPs... and then he'll be really f:censored:ked.

Mine went straight to the trash...
Duplicate emails like that toss up all kinds of red flags for me and it was immediately deleted...

I hope somethings done about it.

When you create a new Battlefield 2 account, you have to tie it with an email address. MSX probably found a way to query EA (with a script of some sort) for those email addresses. It probably isn't that hard.

In fact, stat sites like bf2s.com and bf2player.com probably receive that field when querying EA for a player's statistics. They just don't display them to the general public.

So MSX builds a script to query EA for every unique player ID number. The script weeds out all information except for the player's email address and stores it in an array/database/xml/whatever. Then it's just a matter of creating a simple loop to go through that list and email all of them the same message body with the same spoofed origin email address.

This could probably be created by a PHP script kiddy in a matter of hours.

Absolutely. I'm willing to file a formal complaint with powweb.com. If it means that it's that much harder for Maz to get the word out to the general public regarding his hacks, all the better. :)

Well, let me ask a stupid question if this email is a fake:

Where did the movies come from? I watched one, and it looked very real. The guy definitely had a working cheat in the movie.

I figured there had to be working cheats out there. Too many times, I'd get killed when someone should NOT have known I was there. But with this hack, the enemy has a big red tag showing exactly where I'm located. Too bad, as BF2 and BF1942 are (were) great games.

Interesting that the PB folks can't (or won't) IMMEDIATELY develop a counter-measure to all hacks as soon as they are divulged or discovered. I would think that's PB's job, to KEEP HACKS OUT OF THE GAME.

Does that email address accept mail from another forwarded account? For example, I received it twice. But that's probably because I registered 2 Battlefield 2 nicknames with two different addresses. One is xyz@gmail.com and the other is xyz@someotherserver.com.

All of my emails that come in to xyz@someotherserver.com get auto-forwarded to xyz@gmail.com.

                Thus, I received it twice.

The hacks are very real. All Maz from MSX did was spoof the origininating email address. That's what we're talking about here.

the decoded content from my mail (done by http://www.dillfrog.com/tools/base-64_encode/)

Hey everyone, I am writing to inform you all of some very ... Disturbing news. It seems like everyones \"favorite\" hack website ( http://www.lessthen10cm.com ) Has released a BF2 aimbot and the commander hack is back also. There is a way however to spot enemys using the aimbot. If you see a player get 3 or 4 kills in a row with a rifle/pistol, try and watch them very closely. If they are looking through walls and ammasing massive kills its most likely they are hacking. Remember, the only \"perfect\" anti cheat is having a admin present at all times. We all were ignorant for thinking that client hooks and aimbots would not touch BF2, when it has become as popular as it has. This was something that was destined to happen, so Please prepare yourself.

There are movies of this aimbot out, so watch them and get familiar with them, so you know what to look for. Here are some links to the movies.

LOL, why bother playing the game now? Where's the challenge? You now know where every enemy is, plus have many other ways to gain unfair advantage.

Sad thing is; human nature makes us all control freaks, so it's understandable why many would be happy cheating their way to the top.

No one's saying that the cheat isn't real. What's fake is that this e-mail came from BF2S. He spoofed their adress to make it look like a legit warning as a way to advertise the hack.

Still, without firsthand testing we don't know if those vids were taken on ranked servers or not. Maz is not above hanging his customers out to dry and really doesn't care if people get banned or not. He made his money... what are the cheaters going to do about it? Sue him for buying a quazi-legal piece of broken cheat code? Man... ya might as well got to the cops to complain about a drug deal gone wrong.

It's not that easy. It takes quite a bit of work to figure out how to check for those cheats. You're runing a bunch of stuff in the background right now. Some of it might be oddball but legit drivers and applications. How is PB supposed to know the difference between those legit apps and a cheat if they don't have a referance? It's not like it's going to be running under the name "BF2Cheat".

The cheat app can even be designed to give itself a different name every time it's launched. This means that your machine's memory needs to be scanned top to bottom while you're loading a map. PB still needs to know exactly what to be scanning for. Just to make things even more fun, if the scan takes too long, people scream about the client verification time.

Sound like a pain in the arse to you?

That would be because it is.

Whats your BF2 name? Id like to add it to the ban list of our 3 servers if you wouldnt mind....

Part of me thinks your trolling, and part of me thinks you are actually that sad as to use an aimbot...im unsure which to beleive

I was thinking the same thing. Why would you admit and advertise that you're using a hack. You understand that a PB ban is a hardware ban too. This means if you're caught by PB, you'll have to buy a new computer to be able to play any game that has PB.

Good reply, thanks. I didn't assume it was simple, but PB is there for this very reason. They should be able to develop a counter-measure. I know, I know, then the hackers will mod their cheat and the race will start all over again.

But that's just how it is. PB's function is to detect and destroy these hacks. If it ain't working, or if PB isn't willing to devote the enrgy to come up with a viable solution, then just throw in the towel and give the hackers a free run at it. I'd rather see everyone using the hack, than just a select few..........
