funny everyday I read threads about infantry only maps and servers and people could care less about their stats, yet you see 99% of all infantry server that are UNRANKED empty...

so who's kidding who????

§1.8 Players may not use or exploit game mechanisms to artificially boost their score ("stats padding") and Server administrators may not knowingly allow or encourage this activity on their servers.

This would include but not limited to:
§ Knife-Pistol-Revive
§ Knife-Pistol only Servers
§ Knife only Servers
§ High Points Servers
§ Infantry only Servers
§ No Artillery or Armour Servers
§ Using Vehicles removed from battlefield for purposes of artificially inflating points
§ Turning boats upside down and repairing
§ Glitching inside buildings.
§ Modifying game files for vehicles and weapons.
§ Items not included in this list would be up to EA & DICE to interpret.

I think it's entirely out of proportion to class an infantry only server in the same category as "glitching inside buildings". Its hardly an exploit, it isn't to "artificially boost" scores; instead it is merely to provide for gamers who prefer to fight each other on foot. Its hardly a sin.

I disagree. You are manipulating the game to be played in a way that it was not intended to be played. It DOES artificially pad your stats because vehicles, in my experience, account for the vast majority of my actual deaths.

I play in a squad with friends and if there are 3 of us, 2 being medics, it is rare that another set of infantry takes us out. It is usually a tank or an APC that gets us. With no vehicles, my K to D ratio would sky rocket and the number of points I would get in a round, would also drastically increase.

In reply to your post evilzucchini, who is to say that disregarding an asset is playing the game in a way it was not intended? Spamming supply crates on a tank which is covering, [read: raping] an alley surely wasn't intended, but that doesn't qualify it as "illegal" in EA's eyes.

The argument you put forward in regards to the number of points and KDR on infantry only servers doesn't really hold, especially when you consider the KDR of someone who is exclusively a pilot, or plays in a squad of engineers in vehicles.

Just like all the knife/pistol ranked servers which emptied as soon as they became unranked.

First let me say i respect what you do cause i sure ain't giving up my play time to do it so thanks from an average player...

but with all do respect.....personally i see a infantry only server as better than a 64 slot ranked server with the minimum number of players on it running around unhindered scoring away..yes it happens regularly and it's legal stat padding...again personally i think it's time EA put the whole issue to rest and release an infantry only map, there is such a demand for it and the fact is there would be no more stat padding than any other legal ranked server perhaps less...way less than a legal ranked server with ff off where you don't get charged for tks cause you cant..now thats stat padding extrordinare...

Yeah cause there are alot of unranked infantry servers to begin with.

People play in ranked servers because they have to points to rank up and get medals, and unlocks which they need to infalte their electronic egos . So if I want to go pub it up and play with someone besides myself it usually means a ranked server.

So please don't assume that because I pub on a ranked server, you know where people actually play, that I actually care about stats.
