I wounder if maybe the co-op mode would be something akin to the Surviver game type in UT? As in endless waves of bots attacking with higher and higher difficulty until they finally manage to overwelm the players.

Prolly not, but would be cool to have a DIFFERENT play type rather than doing the same old thing... with bots.

That would be very cool. I cant see it being ranked though.

I think COOP deserves to be ranked, if the game is designed as such that there are around 10-15 enemies around every flag and vehicles are fully manned, and you have to attack those bases in order, and finally reaching the home base, where there are a lot of vehicles (think single player campign in most games, you run and gun down a cluster of enemies). last of all, you only have one life (not including revives), and comp will use artillery/planes/helis.

I have to say that it doesnt sound too impressive to be honest. I highly doubt that all the bugs will be ironed out and eagerly await to see what problems this patch will introduce :hmm:

Already knew about the coop gamemode, seen it on several of the test servers. If it's ranked, it's a padders dream, easy non-stop kills. Seems a bit of a copout if you ask me, as it's probably one of the quickest gamemodes they could of added. Why not add a really good like gamemode that alot more people would enjoy, like say.... CTF!

COOP would be great for at least trying out strats that involve an entire team.

Yeah, could be fun for practices and/or chillin with a couple buddies. Good way for noobs to learn some teamwork basics before rushin out to foul up perfectly good squads.

Beyond that... well, it's bot shootin.

They have come a long way---to be commended---there are still issues to be resolved and hopefully this next patch will address them

Fair enough, any new game mode is great, but why COOP? Surely the community wanted CTF over COOP, people have been whinging on about it for months. Then to add COOP, at this stage?! Dunno, I doubt it.

I think CTF could be ranked, not for every action in game, but it surely would be easy to add the elements 'Flag Captures', 'Flag Retrievals' and 'Flag Defends' to the BFHQ page? That's enough to make CTF worth playing for all the people addicted to the ranking system, maybe even a badge for five flag captures I.A.R or something?

Anyway, I don't see any source for this information, so as far as I'm concerned it's all rumour. Well, apart from what we knew anyway, that the patch is coming in May with Armored Fury not long after.

Capture the Flag as a gamemode makes no sense
Why on earth would you want to play it?

Better and more logical gamemodes would be
- Push
- Secure and Hold
- Onslaught
- Supply Lines
These make sense and involve teamwork - CTF does not and I've never seen it work in anything other than team deathmatch games which BF2 isn't and never should be
Conquest as a game mode is awesome - I've never found it lacking
Why must so many ask for changes that are so detrimental to such a great game
