It will be their PR coup d'grace aimed at convincing you to buy 2142 when it comes along.

Probably. I LOL'ed when I heard that BF2142 is using the BF2 engine. You'd think that DICE would want to pull their **** together and finish fine-tuning BF2's programming before releasing another game with the coding.

EDIT: Doesn't co-op seem like a good way to stat-pad or generally inflate your stats (bots aren't the brightest of the bunch after all)? I'm skeptical we'll see any co-op play in ranked servers (and frankly, that's how it should be).

Co-op sounds more like rumour only.

What would be the point of humans vs bot when you can have human vs human which is ultimately more variant: the possible situations can not be coded.

Doubt Co-op will be ranked (who knows) but if it were to be balanced there would have to be at least a 2:1 ratio of bots: players, maybe more. Still not worthy of ranked status

I wounder if maybe the co-op mode would be something akin to the Surviver game type in UT? As in endless waves of bots attacking with higher and higher difficulty until they finally manage to overwelm the players.

Prolly not, but would be cool to have a DIFFERENT play type rather than doing the same old thing... with bots.

looks great, i'm not buying the add on packs but welcome the bug fixes.

i'll prob buy this 2142 if im still playing BF" by then and fixing bugs and adding to bf2 keeps me playing and happy
