Game modes definitely need more of those puppies. Maybe a glorified CTF? eg: steal the nuke

You know, a mix of an assault map and a CTF.

Well yeah, anything really. I can't believe that there were more game modes in the original BF42 than the current version.

Unless of course I'm in a minority and the lowest common denominator of gamer gets confused by anything more involved than conquest mode.

Enemy Territory: Quakewars is going to be the best FPS ever made. The original ET made a huge statement, and was almost like a pre-battlefield type title. I honestly do not know what to expect from it..

So you had to pull off the first objective, in order for the bridge to get cleared, so you could get to the next objective. Confusing? i hope not. It was a very entertaining way to play.
Thats exactly the sort of thing I'm wanting, firefights would be more concentrated and teams would be forced to stick together to accomplish the round. The BF2 engine is pretty damn good, but with something like this, it would make for a damn awesome game.

You should check out the Project Reality Mini Mod. It has a game mode called Assault and Secure where the flags must be captured in order. Its a great mod and the firefights are concetrated, longer lasting and the teams have to stick together. It even has blood.

Instead of ordinary CTF why not have Capture Saddams Golden tank!

Unfortunately you're going to need to post a video of you typing it while holding a sign with TotalBF2.com written on it and sitting in front of the CN Tower.
Wasn't my video, it was my friend Rich's. He has long since deleted that video as he went through that mess the first week the game was up for sale. But I'll let him know to try that out and see if he can't get second copy out of them lol. I told him to literally mail them the whole thing and have them send him a new copy, but he said it was too much of a hassle. Personally, I think he was just impatient and wanted to get to playing lol.

It really did suck for him, although the video was comical as you could hear him saying some pretty retarded sh*t in the back ground (out of frustration). He got a little more salty when the rest of the guys started ribbin him about buying his second copy for 20 bucks, seeing as he wasn't liking it as much as a $100 dollar game should be liked lol.

From previews I also share your opinion, unless it is terribly bug ridden I see a great game with a lot of depth there.

ET wasn't a pre-battlefield type game. It had way more in common with DOD than it did with Battlefield. I would say Tribes/Tribes 2/Codename Eagle were more pre-battlefield type games.

And the original ET wasn't that original, just a tweak on existing gameplay (DOD).

Don't know if anyone said ET was original. I think what's being pointed out is the gameplay in ET, which had more play modes than BF2 does now. I'd still be playing it daily if local servers weren't so empty.

Well the person I replied to said that ET made a huge statement. I'm really not sure what that statement was...

Ummm, how about "here's a good game, with well balanced classes, which is pretty much bug free, with objective based gameplay and well designed maps and character advancement. Oh, it's also free"
