To be honest, I would had rather seen Battlefield 2042 where they implement some near future weapon systems than going to 2142 (ala Unreal Tournament/Tribes 2).
I read the part about EMP and it made me instantly think of Serenity. Towards the end, the ship is hit by an EMP blast from a reaver ship, loses power and goes into that fairly amazing tailspin.
Don't know about anyone else, but I'd LOVE to see something like that happen in BF2142. It's just one of those things I can picture seeing in the distance, and would be fairly sickening for the pilot too.

Yes I want to see what they have in store for jets and how the helos actually work with their VTOL likeness of F35.
The helos in the trailers seem to be able to go pretty fast, almost as fast as the Eurofighter(without afterburner) it would seem....which would bring up the question,
how fast will the jets be? Will they actually need pilots in them or maybe you can control it as an un-manned aircraft?
Will the aircraft shoot laser beams? Its not far fetched as they are working on some prototype laser "beam" for the F35. Cant wait till E3
I suspect they are trying very hard to avoid Tribes compairisons.
Thats a shame, i LOVE tribes (and T2) but the online player numbers never really lived up to the quality of the game. I would love to see a popular (similar) game, nothing has ever lived up frantic combat of the 150 player online games of T2
