Agree, I like the map but the players ruin it. We have people actually admiting that they don't actually play the game but would rather pad their stats in this thread.

Game design should reward the winning team much more than it does.

meh, oh well, don't play it if you don't like it. stop the bitchin.
Can't I ever go into a bitchin thread without getting the usual "stop bitchin" thing.
It's not needed if you dont like the bitchin choose another thread.
What people also don't realise is you can get alot more points not running at the hotel.
I use the left flank and I usually end up top of the scores anyways.

What's worse than this situation is when you have a server where everyone knows to try to flank the outer area of the map. and try to capture the spawns other than the hotel. And then you have a couple of noobs that just run straight up the middle of the map and start capturing the spawns. and ur like wtf? that's not supposed to happen. They should be dying because that's all that happens to me when I run through there. And then you end up losing to a noobs tactics.

2x bonus for everyone on the winning team would be enough to make ppl play for the win

that's an interesting concept. I don't think it should be like that all the time. It would just make teams way stacked ALL the time. If EA had a special occasion where for one weekend the winning team had 2x score that would be awesome. I think it's a smart idea too, makes people even more addicted to the game. Gives people a reason to continue playing game. It would also allow for the slightly higher award requirements.

I find it difficult to believe, that almost ten months since its release, a majority, yes, I said a majority of players, do not realize what's needed to win a map.

Take Strike at Karkand for example (SAK). (Those who hate or do not play SAK need not reply to this thread) It simply amazes me that so many people believe that the key to winning this map is to capture and fight around Hotel for the entire round. This is more for the US, but it applies to both. Yes, there are some people who try to capture the MEC main as US, or defend it as MEC, but a majority do not.

The first thing to do as US, is to GET ACROSS THE RIVER! On either the 64 or 32 player version, capturing the MEC main and holding it is one of the most important keys to this map. Why? Simple. You see all those threads about how commander mode sucks, it should have the option of not having it, etc? Taking the MEC main as US, eliminates their Arty/UAV/Scan. (of course you have to have someone spawn as Specops to destroy them, but that's a whole different thread) No more pesky artillery raining down on you while you're capping a flag. Second, you now get another tank, and they have NONE!

I can't tell you how many times I have raced across the river to the east side of the map (you know, the area most never go to?) and start turning a flag. I use my commo rose to call out many times, "need help over here!" etc. I also type in all caps "SPAWN ON 3 (or whatever squad I'm in). Once in a blue moon, I actually get someone to spawn with me.

It's much easier on the 64 version to cap warehouse, where you cannot be arty'd. If I can successfully cap it by myself, I try to race around to another flag to cap it. Still requesting assistance, and typing SPAWN ON #.

As I am sitting there waiting for the flag to s l o w l y lower, I look at the minimap and am amazed at how many of the team is STILL AT/AROUND HOTEL!

This is designed to help people who might not be familiar with the game since they may have just started playing it.

If you ever see a spawn point on the east side of the river, by all means SPAWN THERE! Dividing the enemy so that they now have to fight on 2 fronts makes them weaker. Ever heard of divide and conquer?

Hopefully you can cap and hold the warehouse, as it can be defended fairly easily, and you cannot die from arty inside it. I've seen commanders rain 10 strikes in a row, and never get a kill with it...

I've even seen where the US has penetrated the east side of the river, and there are still a dozen MEC around hotel, looking in the direction of the US main. I bet they sit there and say, "Look at us, we are so tough, they are afraid to even come towards us any longer"

So, in closing, the Hotel is not the key to winning Karkand. One of the most important things to do is get at least one base on their side. That makes your chances of winning better.

There are keys to winning each map, but taking and holding (cappable of course) their main, can never be a bad thing. One more quick example, Kubra dam. If you can capture and hold the MEC main, you now have their armor, and they no longer have their fighter or bomber to use against you.
                  Think about it next time...

they're F%^king morons.. It's been almost 2 years since the game has been released and STILL everyone crowds around the hotel.. I have the same frustration you have. The worst is when you spawn in a gas Station at the beginning of the round and if you're lucky manage to get the APC. Sooooo everyone jumps into your APC but once they realize you're going over the wall, they hop out and walk it to the hotel.. MORONS!!!!!!
I just don't get it. What? You want the round to be interesting so you go to the hotel to get killed time and time again? I would love to see a round where the US Goes for everything BUT The hotel. I think it would really screw up the MEC side as most ifnot all of them would spawn up at hotel and wonder where everyone is. That would be my dream round lol.

Man if even the best (and I mean the BEST) B2 players went up against a team of REAL spec ops Marines or Navy Seals who played the game non stop as a unit for just one month, they would get their asses handed to them on a silver platter. In fact I'm going to make a challenge. Stay tuned!!!!

Some people obviously need to try some other servers where teamwork is encouraged and practiced by the regulars.

^ Just make it so swapping in the last parts of the round doesnt get you the bonus.

I'd say make it a 1.25 or 1.5x bonus, that gives some incentive but won't make the rank system go nuts.

I'm not sure how the commander scores points but surely a modified version of that could have been put in place, e.g. you only get one point for a kill and everyone on the team gets an assist.

This is an ancient thread, with wisdom in it.

The real solution is simple however; don't play Karkand. You silly sheep.
