Well I disagree because that's what I do best
However at the moment there is no other a game to revival BF2.
But that's the way it always is till something bigger and better comes along.
I've been waiting a long time for GRAW to come out and soon as it comes out BF2 in the bin.
But have to admit BF2 been ok for keeping my boredom away at times.
I can justify my hours playing BF2 aswell, what other game is there to play?

I agree with you 100%. I'm one of those players that plays for fun, not points. People seem to forget you play games for entertainment, not life-wasting or criticising, but it's a thing in life, there's always someone who thinks they deserve their own little BF2 shrine.

It's already a given that BF2 is a fantasitc game, but that doesn't mean we should continously revere it until the day the server crashes does it? The time in which users here created topics/threads to praise the game was over shortly after the release of BF2 demo and the initial release of BF2 Retail.

Fact is, almost everyone, if not everyone, loves or enjoys this game, this fact/belief has already been established. Now, it seems uncanny for a veteran or a long-time regular to suddenly create a thread displaying joy and satisfaction to the game. It's natural now that after about 9 months since this game was released, many users here only create threads that discusses and debates about the details of BF2, usually negatively as you might have noticed.

Unfortunately, new users of this community or/and new players of BF2 will most likely misunderstand this trend. It's obvious that reading other users, especially the vets/regulars, complaining and ranting about this game will set a dark gloomy impression on the game and its community. This is not so, to reiterate, we love the game, we just like to discuss the finer details about it, it's what makes this community alive

Furthermore, it's human nature for one to complain the negative aspects/details over the positives.

honestly, i think there ought to be more threads like this. of course people are going to complain about the imperfections of this game, but let's not forget the good stuff, of which there is plenty. maybe if more word got out to the developers about what we like rather than what we dislike it'll give them more ideas on how to improve the game. sure, the game has issues. what game doesn't? personally, i think those issues pale in comparrison to the enjoyment i get out of playing.

Problem is, the momentum and spirit of praising the same feature/details does not last long compared to degrading it over and over. It's better to beat on a dead horse than feeding and caring for it. I would love to see you try and praise the sun everyday :P

I have been lurking in this forum for a while now, and recently joined. I have read countless posts of how bad this game is, how many bugs it has, how all 3 bf series suck and how 2142 will suck too.

In all honesty, in my opinion BF2 is fantastic. Sure there may be those little things that annoy us all (every game has them), and sure EA doesnt support the game as well as Valve does for CS, but they are trying. I am sick of people complaining about everything, as if they happen to forget and can't justify why they spent the number hours they have playing this game.

What this game does for me is allow myself and my friends to have an amazing time for the couple of hours a week we play together. Whether its piloting a bomber and trying to outrun the god like J-10, where all you can hear in the squad is "Bank right!" "Pull Up!" Or, the compliments recieved when you have done a good job, and constant motivation giving between members.

I know this post doesnt have much of a discussion aspect to it, but just think about the reasons why you play, and just enjoy the game for what it has to offer you.

I love the game, but hate sitting @ work reading about how cool the game is when I can't play it right now. I can only get 1942 demo to run on this "Hell Dimension"

Can't someone whip up a mini-flash version of BF2 real quick, like <5 megs or so, with all the same features, so I can play at work?

People are judging 2142 on BF2, because of all the patches and all that crap!

Agreed! also- it's not the game most of the time; it really is some of the players that make the game a crappy experience.

I've ran into hacks, cheats, stat-padders, dishonorable clans, mindless TKers, racists, spawn campers, etc etc etc. Oh yes, and last of all- p1ssy and emotional admins who get so upset at you killing them too much or accidentally TKing them, that they personally ban you or such.

They tend to be the ones who make the game unbearable.

The way I see it is that people's emotion are not being balanced and they are trying to balance their emotions by getting things out of their chests, it so happens that they are complaints. It is a natural reaction. Look, no love, no hatred. They are still playing the game because they fundamentally love the game, it's just that some of them are trying to bash EA/DICE to exert some pressure onto them to make the improvements they insist regardless of their possibilities.

I know EA for over 10 years now. The first game I played was named "USNF" stands for United States Navy Fighters. It is a flight simulation which had all the graphics gorgeously rendered in 1994 when Pentium I first came to this planet. Then I said to myself, this game producer made a real piece of work. I still keep the CD and the manual. Very serious and attentions to details production I say. Throughout the years, I played over 50 different games mostly flight simulation from different publisher and producers. Compared to EA, those products are just about average gave me no real surprise.

The first FPS game I played was ironically MechWarrior I which came with my 1st 3DFx card. So I may like 2142. I am looking forward to Ghost Recon 3 actually which will be due out in May.

I have had the idea of Integrated Battle Space for a real long time since I played Nova Logic flight simulation F-22 and F-16 as well as MiG-29. They put together all 3 games into 1 single server and allowed players to interchange fighter planes to play online. Then not long later came the famous Operation Flash Point, the ancestor of all online FPS games with vehicles. the BF series take the concept to the next level, promoting air, land and sea combat in 1 gaming space. This is indeed a great concept evolved from that of OFP.

I think the trouble with EA/DICE is :"What's next?". So after BF1942 they come up with this Global Ranking System and Unlock which is another brilliant idea! To be quite honest with you, I am very addicted to the game just because of the ranking system. You feel like you are achieving something. Besides, there are other features which bring players closer than in BF1942. Squad is the general idea. BF2 brings people closer. You care more about who is getting the General rank for instance things like that.

BF 2 is revolutionary. All the complaints are just natural reaction to a good game.
