 no-one ever works in teams on BF

1, just because you suck and it takes you a whole clip to kill someone doesnt mean squat.
I killed/kill players after 2 shots .... so yea, learn how to aim.
    2. again, just cause you cant find a team doesnt mean there isnt any teamwork.

All in all you are the ultimate n00b man.

Why do you have to turn every thread you post in into a personal arguement?

you are obviously not part of a clan the people who dont work in teams are our targets

Roost is ok - it sits on my hardrive collecting dust now. There is actually already an extensive thread on this subject but just to reiterate my previous points on this game

          pros
          - excellent concept
          - ww2 based (oh yeah!)
          - gore!
          - realistic gameplay (you get hit you die lol)

          cons
          - outdated engine
          - no normal mapping
          - poly counts are VERY low
          - the infantry combat system is very jerky and unnatural

now having said this it will really come down to your personal preference - there are plenty of fanboi's here that will instantly try to refute what i have just said but let me just say this - i work for FH2 and i am being as unbiased as i can possibley be. for i know that a mod team developed this game and i can appreciate the level of work that has gone into it.

Unfortunately, during the time it took to create RO gaming graphics took leaps and bounds in its improvement - leaving RO to release amongst the giants of gaming (namely BF2, CSS, Fear, etc etc etc if you came from these games RO will be a BIG step down in GFx quality).

Most mod teams took a keen interest in RO - we were all very impatient to see what kind of features they would implement and in a a way we were impressed - but at the end of the day we all thought the same thing:

great ideas but it was too little, too late.

hell the game is cheap - if you can afford it check it out. just dont expect to be blown away by its quality personally, i will wait till they convert to the next unreal engine - then it will certainly be worth a look in!

I'd like to pick up a copy just to see Tim's (KillJoy) mapping work and see if it has improved since his CIA map for Tactical Ops. He did an excellent job on that map for it being off the UT99 engine and I would like to think it could only have gotten better.

Not to mention, I have to buy a copy just to support an old clan mate of mine

Jimbob - yeah, those pro's & con's sum it up pretty well. I play both BF2 & RO:OST, don't really have time for a clan. There are virtually no smacktards/TK's in RO:OST, I guess because of the lack of accurate automatic weapons

Perhaps one could say that Roost is a nice preview of what is to come. The engine which the game will be build on will certainly make for an amazing and generally good game with tons of gameplay, will be very hard for them to mess that up (unlike DICE).:)

I believe that the next roost(whatever name it will cary) will make a new category for players wanting realism and, in the same time, gameplay which will attract the more mature audience instead of the overall younger players found amongst BF2, Halo et c.

It will be a nice change from playing with 'kids' in an arcade gamish game like perhaps QW, BF 2142 (and the likes of those) to enjoying a realistic(game terms ofcourse) WW2 experience with a more gameplay and tactics minded crowd.

Maybe I'm getting old, I'm 21, but my gaming preferences have certainly matured. Too bad most people are stuck in some kind of high when they get a new badge or something

lol - that aint old mate i totally agree with you - ROOST "1" has definitely set the stage for future releases... until then we will have FH2 to wet our appetites (and dont expect FH2 to be arcadey in any sense of the word )

well back to work for jim

You kids are just sore that you cant get SF to run. :lmfao:

BF2Sf has tons of insane firefights and lots of teamwork, as opposed to this turn that has none of the above.
If your going to bash a game, at least use real facts to back up your opinion about the game. Its totally personal preference, and saying BF2:SF has insane firefights and lots of teamwork, while RO dosn't have any, is plain ignorant. By saying that, I can tell they you either have never played RO, or simply hate realistic games and cannot think of a mature way to reply with your opinion.

Now in my personal opinion, I think RO:Ostfront is better. But hell, I don't even play Vanilla BF2 anymore because I can practically not stand arcadey gameplay anymore, and the player base those games bring with them. jimbob pointed out the cons pretty well, and like he said it pretty much narrows down to personal preference.

So in my personal opinion, once again, RO:Ostfront is better. Even if the graphics, animations, etc might not be up to par with BF2, the simple ability to do things such as "rest" or "deploy" your weapon on almost any given object; or fact that its almost always 1 shot kill; or simply the overall realsitic gameplay completly cancle out and surpass the con of the gaming having lower end graphics and engine.
