I do this whever I can, I have done it quite alot pretty funny, mostly on Sharqi when say your in the construction site buildings Sniping or the Crane etc, they come running out and you shoot it and it blows up them and gives a good damage radius.

killed tons of guys by shooting at the red barels or gastanks , also with AT, very handy .

for SF players, most don't know it, but you can also destroy the ping four stacked fuel tanks in IRON GATOR , they just need some more bullets to blow up, but do more damage

On Sharqi Peninsula, the barrels by the flag at the construction site is guaranteed a kill if some tries to cap it.

As mostly a sniper on Sharqi, i've started noticing people deliberately blowing up the barrels before settling down to capture the flag, which is a shame.. then I drop claymores on their heads

There's a red barrle behind the hotel flag on karkand. Good way to blow up people as they run around cluelessly.

Here is more fun info regarding the barrels of bf2 :p

Hit points: 50 which means about three assault rifle bullets to make it explode.
Explosion damage: 150
Explosion radius: 9
Explosion force: 12

Now we also have those fuel wagons with the flammable warning on them (the white wagons)
Hit points: 50
Explosion damage: 250
Explosion radius: 5
Explosion force: 7

the barrels have larger explosion radius but less damage. need to stay 9 meters away from them when you capture a flag.

the fuel wagons have low explosion radius 5m but they are more lethal.

and BTW those barrels and wagons cause the same damage against vehicles.

I have killed countless people, and have seen countless people die from the red barrel next to the car in Karkand between the USMC forward spawn and the Hotel flag. It usually gets detonated by a grenade.

Don't the large white fuel cans explode as well? I'd assume they have a similar effect if they do.

I did it by accident on a night map; was shooting in the general direction of where I thought someone was hiding to flush them out; there was an explosion and I got three kills!

yeah, I use the ones inside of the Karkand Warehouse all the time. Get a squad in there and then shoot those things twice with a G3.

I slap a c4 on each red barrel by the train accident flag and if im on the other side and that flag gets capped i just whip it out and pop the C4.
