Damn mouse cable drags me down!!

Is there anyone out there who has the unfortunate pleasure of using a corded mouse like me? Is there a way to position the cable so it does not drag my mouse in arbitrary directions? It can get downright annoying when I'm flying and I have to fiddle with the cable. Sorry, I'm broke after buying a vid card so a wireless mouse is not a valid solution for me

I use one of the more expensive corded mice and don't have any problems. Where does the cable get stuck?

What I used to do was have a paperweight of some sort (anything heavy) then pull the mouse backwards towards me a little furthur than what I think is the most I will move it, then pin the lead with the wieght and move the mouse into the middle, coil the cable a little or make a C shape so that there is no tension.

Well, I have the cable going completly straight to the back of my desk and then to the back of my PC. At this point gravity just drags the cable down. The only thing I can think of that would stop it is if I hammered a nail into my desk and coiled the cable around it. But then again, I'd much rather buy a wireless mouse for the amount of damage that would cost

Hmm. I do. I use an unltralight corded mouse and Ive had the same problem as youre having.

My problem has a simple reason and an even simplier solution. My mouse cord is mixed with other cords (usually) and those cords drag the mouse down. What you can do is simply free and separate your mouses cord.

Im using 2 mice. My brother has a bigger one which suits his gameplay more. His cord is "fat" and heavy, so he uses a piece of ducttape to fix the cord, leaving enough of it on the table for the mouse to move freely.

The problem with wireless mice is the weight.

I find it to be about twice or even more heavier then a corded mouse. It weighs a lot more because of the batteries.

My mouse cord is not tangled up but it is pretty damn short so that puts alot of tension on it as well. I'll have to go find my roll of "engineering tape" and try this and metal storms idea. Or perhaps a combination. Thanks alot guys :)

You hit the nail right on the head lol. I can't believe I never thought of something so simple, I must be stupid.

I once had a friend like 4-5 years ago that had a wireless mouse but it sucked balls. It would randomly cut out when he tried to do a 180 turn and sometimes it would shut off when he was idle(ie camping, sniping)! Not only that but the batteries were only worth a couple hours of game time. Ever since then I have basically shunned wireless mice. Have they gotten any better since then?

I don't own a wireless mouse. I was playing DOD on my friend's computer and it ran fine it was quick and responsive, however, I felt it to be heavy. I mean noticeably heavy.

                    That's why I prefer corded.

I put a strip of scotch tape along the back of my desk to reduce friction on the mouse cord (it's unsanded particle board back there).

yeah bit of tape or somthing should do the trick, i wouldn't go down the wireless road. Wireless mice suck, especially for BF2.
