Re: A solution to the J10/JSF problem

A think a simple solution would be to take away the afterburner from the J10.

how about back to the missle lock we once knew...where only skilled piolets could shoot anything down with missles?

Completely agree. Dice screwed the AA up

Ground AA should be like it is now, one out of two missles hits so thas good, half life gone but jet to jet should take some skill

Re: A solution to the J10/JSF problem

I picked one name at random in this thread and look what I found:

            USMC 235:46:38 473 347 1.36 136
            MEC 27:48:56 45 71 0.63 90
            PLA 07:22:13 19 15 1.27 92

I figured most of the whiners are those losers who always play on the USMC team. Basically they won't be happy until the USMC is superior in all aspects so just ignore these newbie whiners.

How will that change the J10 click and kill missles.

Afterburners don't have squat to do with the problem.

If a J10 missle capabilities were the same as other aircraft it would be close to a fair engagement. Afterburners or no afterburners.

The problem is the "code" for the j10 missiles vs other aircraft.

And the "code" for other aircraft when attacking the j10

Afterburners don't matter if your missles still fly past the J10 w/o hitting it.

oh yes because back then pilots as we all know got shot down on a regular basisi [/sarcasm]
The AAM right now is almost right - the coding is what needs to be tightened - Mig vs f35/f18 combat is fine
The problem is the j10 - its missiles are more effective than any other plane and missiles refuse to hit it

Someone looked up missile characteristics before and noted that the surface-to-air missiles and Air-to-Air missiles differed in their yaw and pitch. The reason surface to air hits much more frequently (why essex can actually down J10) is because S2A has 30 yaw and 30 pitch, compared to A2A which is 15 yaw and 15 pitch.

Simple solution is just up the yaw and pitch of A2A missiles to match those of the ground AA like the essex. This way if you have a clean lock and fire missiles they will hit +90% of the time regardless of your aircraft.

                  OR

Decrease J10 turning to that ~Mig/F18 thus making it vulnerable to A2A.
                  That's the fix!

1.2 Missiles were not like that, they were crazy getting kills from any angle.

                    yes they were
the changes they made in 1.21 were to change the AA from ground and air being equal to the current situation and reduced the lockon range - nothing else aside from cosmetically making the missiles travel nicer
So that is not a fix at all
The missiles themselves are fine as you would have seen if you flew the f18, mig29, eurofighter and to a lesser extent the f35
The problem as I and a hundred others have said a hundred times each is the j10

Dont know what you're on about mate
The USMC is inferior in almost every aspect ingame
Infantry weapons are generally weaker than the PLA/MEC choice (m16 vs ak101 etc.)
The USMC tanks are inferior in that they are a much larger target, they're slower and take damage going over uneven terrain
All the Non USMC jets are superior to the USMC selection
The USMC attack shopper has the weakest armaments ingame
The transport choppers are irrelevant as weapons
The light transports of the USMC are inferior by virtue of their limited gun rotation

The heavy transport and APC are the only areas that the USMC has a slight almost neglible advantage which are really mere differences in attributes

Pub games don't mean anything skill-wise, you are a sorry case if you think otherwise. But you are more evidence to support my case that most of the bitchers and whiners play USMC all day!

Re: A solution to the J10/JSF problem

Got a bit more time to post now. Seem to have two lines of thought on this balance issue one set are after 1.12 style of dogfight (which is a laugh as there was bugger all dogfighting in 1.12) i.e. non effective missiles, so every plane can evade A2A. Another set want balance, i.e. all planes will get downed by A2A.

I quite enjoy flying the MIG if a pilot against me gets good tone after flares I'm done. A lot would argue takes no skill etc but that's rubbish imho.

A lot of this I think is academic as I think Dice will be ending devolpment on Bf2 after 1.3 anyway. Personally I think they've only got minimal resoruces on Bf2 now so I think we'd be very lucky to get anything done.

There are more than enough reasons to choose the USMC.

First and foremost- its USA for gods sake. Im being serious here.
Secondly- I as many others, choose F35B over other aircraft because of the challenge factor. F35B as we all know exists only on USMC side.
Thirdly- Personally I, love USMC equipment. From the dunebuggy up until the Linebacker.
Forth- in most cases, entering the server you spawn on USMC side. WHy switch?
