Set all fighters collision mesh to equal in terms of surface and profile from the rear.

Set ATA missle to miss hits when the jets are making a full-afterburner turn. (upgraded 1.12, downgraded 1.2)

Set AB timer according to the speed boost so that the jets, using afetrburner will cover the exact same distance.
    (eg. F35B + ~1400 KPH + 10 sec. AB = X metres distance/ J10 + ~1300 KPH + 11 sec AB = X metres distance)

Increase J-10 full roll speed by 1 second, both AB and ABless roll.

Decrease fighters bombs splash damage to make them anti-armor specialized, instead of all-around capable.

Increase jets cannon bullet grouping significantly to make hitting distant targets harder.

Decrease jets armor and STA/ATA missile damage aswell to keep the 2missiles/1jet damage ratio and decrease missile damage to choppers.

Set "cooling" or "reload" time for missiles- 1-2 seconds between each launch.

If the missiles chase capabilities will be effectively high- decrease jets missile payload. 2 for bombers and 4 for fighters.

Hmm... I might have missed something.

i think every map should have the same plane for both sides, that would make it fair, and maybe everyone would stop whining.

Youre somewhat right. People dont mind the MiG vs F18 situation because both of those planes are equal in terms of handling. But what youre proposing, looks like making J10 equal to F35B in handling, which would take out the variety.

There should be other ways to iron out the differences.

i haven't really noticed the j-10 out-maneuvering me in a JSF too often - but if there's a problem why not just copy the code for the mig?

Well, if an F35 locks on to a J10, all the J10 needs to do to avoid the missle is to turn hard with or without afterburner. This missle gets really close to the J10 but flies away at the last second.

Way to complicated and it will not balance things, just make things different in a bad way

Only 2 things need to be done
                  1. Improve the AAM AI so that it will hit only when you keep a constant lock unless you launch flares - no hard turning to avoid missiles but to break lock
                  2. Give the disadvantaged F35B an advantage - the simplest being a mass deceleration airbrake utilising its presently useless VTOL capabilities

Re: A solution to the J10/JSF problem

Colony made a good counter arguement to this but I still think overall it's the best solution.

Reduce Armour on J10 so one AA from ground or Air = dead plane
                    Increase AB time on JSF

So only a couple seconds of cannon fire from the JSF would kill the J10.

Colony's point was that due to him checking behind every few seconds no one would get a chance to put sustained cannon fire on him. Maybe but I'd say I'm above average pilot and I'd think I'd get shot down a lot and would address the issue for 99% of players.

                      1. - its actually changing the whole nature of the missile. I like it. I played Warrock which had this kind of a system. As long as you keep the lock, the missile will hit. As soon as the lock is broken- missile flies off.

                      2. Agreed. But I think all of those planes need a faster response in throttle change.

the J-10 is bs. Thef-35 in RL would outdo that outdated piece of **** in every category. You people must be smokin some good $hit to seriously think the J-10 is actually running on any technology parralel to that of the the F-35

I think you guys are making this more complicated than it has to be. To me the fix is simple.

Someone looked up missile characteristics before and noted that the surface-to-air missiles and Air-to-Air missiles differed in their yaw and pitch. The reason surface to air hits much more frequently (why essex can actually down J10) is because S2A has 30 yaw and 30 pitch, compared to A2A which is 15 yaw and 15 pitch.

Simple solution is just up the yaw and pitch of A2A missiles to match those of the ground AA like the essex. This way if you have a clean lock and fire missiles they will hit +90% of the time regardless of your aircraft.

                          OR

Decrease J10 turning to that ~Mig/F18 thus making it vulnerable to A2A.

That would just reintroduce 1.2 AA where a lock was a kill no matter what you did
I personally don't think that was the answer

Hmm... dogfight where the first guy who has a visual, wins. Id like to get the gameplay off that mode as far as possible.

Second option would be so much better.

Any moron that has played more than an hour can tell you there is a huge difference between the J10 missles and/or the J10s ability to click and kill vs any other aircrafts missles.

Aircraft agility or the pilots skill don't matter.....Thats exactly the point.

Any idiot that can get off the ground w/o killing himself and stay airborne long enough to hit mouse 1 can kill with the j10.

Thats not true with any other aircraft. Its not going to be a first lock first kill engagement like with the j10. Any other aircraft besides the J10 will require some manuevering to follow the j10 to get more than 1 or 2 missles off.

And then they will only kill if they are lucky enough to have the missles actually "attack" a locked J10 target
