What kind if performance difference will i see?

So i had a 6800 gt, i absolutely loved it and played on medium settings and it ran great.. Sadly my 6800 gt broke, i sent it to the manufacture and they didnt have another in stock, the only other card they had was a rx800xt-and i took it. I've never had a ATI before, so i was wondering is this a down grade an upgrade will bf2 run better or worse? any ideas? thanks.

My other Specs are
AMD 4000+ 64 BIT @ 2.40ghz
1 GB RAM
120GB HD

i have a x800pro 256mb and run everything on high and AA 4x. i think u will enjoy it.

I've always been a nVidia guy. I only have one friend with an x800 and they like it. I'm tempted to say it might be a slight downgrade. The x800 and the 6800 were suppose to be able equal but given the fact that BF2 was optimized for the 6800, I'm tempted to say your x800 might be a slight downgrade.

One way to find out, install it and see how it goes.

Thing is he is going from a GT, not an Ultra....he should see some better perfomance with the X800XT...

It's actually a slight upgrade for BF2.

6800 GT < X1800 XT < 6800 Ultra < X850 XT PE

why would i bs u. i have everything on high and AA set at 4x. whats so hard to understand there. what would i get out of by BSing u about that. i can see it now. well kids back in the day i was on TBF2 forums and i used to tell everybody that i could run BF2 on hight settings and AA on 4x with my x800pro. u should have been there. i got so much pleasure out of deceving these fools. it was so much fun. dont forget to tell ur grand kids bout it.

i run my resolution at 1024

hell when i had a ati 9600xt i would run everything on high except textures they were on medium and no AA and it ran fine.

My friend runs this on high at 1280x1024 with 4xAA. And his processor is an AthlonXP 3200+. So he isn't bull****ting.

People seem to forget that running at high settings and having high framerates are two different things. People like to call BS too fast.

I had an x800pro and could run at all high on either 1024 or 1280, BUT I didn't have a very good framerate either way. When I ran on a mix of high, medium and low settings, it was fine for the most part.

Don't call BS because someone runs at high settings. Most modern cards can do it. They just may not be as fast while doing it as some other cards out there.

Your "friend" is lying to you. Either that or his bf2 looks like a slide show. I am running 7800's in SLI and at those settings the herky-jerkies are beginning to be noticable.
