Rather than clutter up our performance tests with a full set of numbers from another card, we decided to sum up its performance first. As we saw in our card comparison charts, the 7900 GT has specifications nearly identical to the 7800 GTX. Here we take a look at the stock 7800 GTX vs. the stock 7900 GT. There are plenty of overclocked 7800 GTX cards around that will either perform exactly like or very slightly higher than the 7900 GT. But as our performance tests at 1920x1440 clearly show, the 7900 GT only marginally edges out the stock 7800 GTX in performance.

And you payed how much?

and who plays that high res? 1600*1280 thats shld b normal

he's just saying in his case his card is still a few fps faster than the 7900 gt

oh and shoot look at jimmy's sig he's cool now

and maybe his card IS better, perhaps the 7800 gtx overclocks way better than the 7900 gt? possibly... the slim diff between the gt and gtx is the gtx has a little more boom so i believe it hell yes

No sir. That is not the case. The 7900gt is 65nm (simplistic terms that means less heat, higher overclocking)

You don't see many 7800gtxs breaking 10k in 3d05, while 7900gts seem to be doing it somewhat more often. Not to mention the price diffrence.

well i got mine 4 100 buxs darkstar can vouge 4 me on that and my setup soon will be past 10k prob cuz ima get another 7800gtx soon :) easily in 3dmark so.... i dont get ur point am i cool now that im in a jackasses sig??

uhh me(until 30 seconds ago, this is an EDIT), and about 90% of all the other people in this forum lol its not alot lets just say that. its usually just a picture and pc specs. truthfully ive only seen a small number of people with it, i cant count it on two hands and im constantly here

thats good because this is what im aiming for when it comes down to buying a gpu. and yes bmxer my computer will finally pwn yours (he's always bragged about how much better his pc is compared to mine, but im catching up lol). thanks for proving me otherwise jimmy, honestly id prefer to be wrong and corrected than right and not.
