If you have a 7900GT, are think of getting one, or are thinking of getting a new card sometime soon, you'll want to read this. This also requires not being affraid of your hardware.

Basicly it shows you how the 7900GT and GTX use the same core, except the GT is starved for voltage so it can only reach certain speeds. Increase the voltage and you can easily exceed GTX speeds while still on air cooling.

This applies to all 7 series cards on 90nm, this guide only shows it for the 700GT, and if you look around there are much easier ways of doing it than they show. You'll need water cooling to do it on the GTX though.

Overclocking voids it in the first place. If you're going to overclock at all, you might as well do it right :)

This doesn't physically damage anything on the card(the easier methods), does that mean it's covered as well?

Physical modifacation would be considered damage. (other than reversable stuff such as changing the GPU cooler)

from the customer for any incomplete or modified product that is returned and requires repair or replacement

This is just as reversable. They weren't even stating that it voided the warranty, they said they may apply a service charge. Quote the whole thing next time.

A serivce chage equaling the total value of the crd if it is damaged. But whatever I'm not going to sit here and argue. If you have doubts call them and see.

Take a look for yourself. Tracing that yellow line with conductive ink gives you 1.55v. The ink can be removed in seconds with alcohol, and it returns to using the normal 1.2v.

1.55v would allow you to reach speeds close to 750MHz on the core, on air.

but alcohol can damage the card, and it would rather obvious to the eVGA techs that the card was messed with.

There's no reason this should be locked. Anyone that isn't affraid to go the extra mile to get the most out of their money may still find this useful. No one is forcing anyone to do anything.

Sounds Cool, but can you use any replacement CPU heatsink on the card?
