damn.. I just got my 2gb of corsair xms stable at 3-3-3-8 with 2.5ghz on my CPU, and now this =(

edit: scratch that, Its still unstable. damn. anyone have any advice?? my computer was stable at 2.5-3-3-7 and 2.4ghz.

i couldnt get to 2.5 with those settings stabaly. so I did 2.8RAM voltage. 1.7chipset voltae, 3-3-3-8 ram timings, +5% CPU voltage and 2.5ghz CPU. I thought it was stable but it isnt. any ideas?

Yeah, I have an idea. You won't be stable with four dimms filled running at 1T. This is an example of what I was talking about in the other thread.

Im having all sorts a problems. I cant go 2-3-3-6. all these things. im unstable at 2.4 with a 5x FSB multi, for 1200mhz fsb. I want at least 1000. my ram is being very weird and is always unstable past 2.45ghz CPU. No matter what timings I try.

What speed is your ram running at? What is your divider?

You should set your LDT multi to 4x, you don't need it to be over 1000.

First make sure your ram really is stable at 2.4ghz. Run Superpi 32M and the prime95 or SP2004 large stress test.

If the ram is indeed stable slowly up the voltage and up the FSB or loosen the timings etc...

Whats probably going on is that your ram is just not going to cut it. Corsair XMS is flashy and not bad ram, but I have not heard of it being an uber overclocker. Hitting DDR480 is a pretty good OC if this is standard DDR400.

Just accept the fact you can only run 240mhz and run with a divider if you require more CPU speed.

RAM to a computer means power to do the work well.

There are pending systems that will come into the market within a year or two running 64 Bits with the ability to handle 8GB, 16GB or even more RAM in the future.

I remember when the powers that be proclaimed that we will never see more than a gigabyte of anything way back when. HAH!

My next system will have 4 gig of RAM and I consider it "CHEEP" at this stage in the game.

It is nice to finally see makers of RAM pay attention to power gamers.

yeah i wouldent get vista for a while i bet there will be many flaws in it wait about a yeah they will realase like vista 2 or vista secondedition or something ' ive got xp oem home but that pc it was on blew up' now i have to buy a new copy for my new pc dam ***** er's and i own the disc ' any way to sort that out ?

keep your FSB below 1000 but having a 4x multiplier as said earlier....

I can go 2-3-3-6 just fine, but thats at stock speeds for my 3700 San Diego. I know I can have 2.4 GHz if go at 2-3-3-6 and slackening other timings like 'read to write time' if I have a RAM voltage of 2.75v, and a Vcore of 1.45v.

They will be 2 x 2Gb sticks of DDR2. BF3 will require over 2Gb.

well I i ran all the stabuility apps and junk, and I got it stable at 2.8 RAm voltage, 1.6 chipset voltage, +5% CPU voltage with 240htt (2.4ghz), 4xmultiplyer for a 960mhz Hypertransport and my ram is timed at 166mhz (200mhz with the OC) 2-3-3-7 stabily. I cant go into 2-3-3-6 or it wont boot. If I even increase the htt to lets say 243 (2.43ghz) and leave my ram as is, or even slack it a tiny bit my performance goes down the drain.
Im still working on getting my system stable with 2.5ghz CPU and 1000mhz Hypertransport. Ive tried many things and none are perfectly stable yet. My ram didnt like being at 208mhz so I even dropped it to 133 and it still slowed like crazy. mang I hate this...
