If you want CrossFire, then you will need a x1900XT CE (CrossFire Edition), and a CF ready mobo, the rest can stay the same. And yea, as Mat said, if you get dual core now, you will be able to run games better down th etrack, as more and more games will start to use that technology.

You may wat to research Opterons (spelling?) They are dual cores, but mean for servers, the good thing there is that as they are meant for servers they run very cool, meaning that they are very good for OC'ing, and since they are dual core, you get the best of both worlds. But i heard that they are stopping production of some of the,.. .not sure bout that though, but anyway.. their worth a loko into.

Not all Opterons are dual core, why does everyone assume that? 165 and higher are the only dual core models.

Actually 165-185 are the dual core 939's. If you go higher than that you will be getting a socket 940 processor.

I don't think you can get G.skill in Korea.

but yea dont get an SLI board and put an ATI card on it.. its a waste. Either get a non-SLI mobo and save the money, or get a Nvidia card with the SLI mobo.

Twsmit, CF is not garbage, it performs better and has better architecture than the SLi counterpart, making it far more effective and it uses the 2 video cards a lot better than SLI does, the only problem (that i know) is that its buggy, and the R200's suck big time. the idea and how it should work is great, but they just havnt been able to put it all together... thats what ive heard anyway.. please correct me if im wrong.. i dont want 2 be spreading wrong info.

Crossfire is garbage. Might be why 98% of steam users with multi GPU systems went with SLI.

Crossfire requires an ATI crossfire motherboard, something that performs less than nvidia and frequently did/does have less mature features such as poor USB2.0 transfers and a poor first party southbridge. ULI actually makes the majority of southbridges because ATI's own solution didnt cut it.

Crossfire also requires a master card for the higher end 1800 and 1900 series cards, as well as older cards such as the x800s. That means you have to buy an expensive video card, as well as an even more pricey master card $50-$100 premium over a regular card.

The external dongle is a half baked solution ATI came up with to back port their x800 cards to confront SLI while ATI scrambed to actually produce a response to SLI. ATI is rumored (possibly confirmed at this point i cant remember) that they are developing a copy of SLI that will use an internal bridge.

Dont get me wrong, Im pretty much against SLI as well, but right now nvidia offers a more elegant solution that is more cost effective, as well as having the best performing and feature rich motherboard chipsets. Multi GPU enviroments are perfect for large resolutiuon monitors and for people with money to burn, but for the most part single cards are the way to go IMO.

SLI is the better multi GPU technology by far right now, but both are not something i would recommend to the average person, let alone the average gamer.

lol, i did this. My x850 works great with my SLi mobo, but now, i'll have to either go nvidia or replace the mobo to upgrade. Plus, i dont think I even have the x850 CE. But i've heard crossfire was unstable anyways.

My next move will probably be an Nvidia gfx card and then later a second one for SLI. But currently with my setup (see below) i'm getting good performance and especially with that 16mb cache hard drive (which I want to recommend to the OP), I am one of the first in the game always.
